Rawr, today I dusted off my copy of Team Fortress Classic for no reason in particular and decided to give it a try. I hadn't played it in a few years and after the novelty of it wore off I realized something. There's a lot of jack-asses on TFC... then I realixed, hey, there's a lot of jack-asses on a lot of other online multiplayer games. :| CS:S seems to be an exception to though... Maybe it's just the clan servers with good admins and such but it takes good players to make it really work so kudos people, kudos.
Now with that bit of sentimentality out of the way it's time for me to go back to lurking...
And remember always who the real enemy is:

The enemy is cunning and we must eliminate them at any cost. I was thinking maybe posioned Cheetos...

Haha Well I just came off my clan server after a crappy game with no reg whatsoever. This lame-arse ranking system that one of the members set up made you lose 200 points for every TK (perspective is that I was first and had 2,400 points at the start of today). And it doesn't help that you only get about 2 points for a kill.
So I've just came off losing over 600 points, and am no longer first. I hate some of the CSS community because they're always bitching about reg and crap (This includes me, by the way. I'm guilty as charged).
And I have to go back on tomorrow and play a 2on1 to get my rank back up. It'll take forever ffs.

And that's another thing! some lamers just join the server for a 2on1 against me and don't say a word. Now I like making small-talk as I headshot them, but when they say nothing and just play it annoys me. The community could be a lot friendlier.

Psh, rankings are frivilous. Whenever I get to hung up on my ranking I do fun things like only use the knife or play "dodge the bullets" just for the hell of it to ruin my rank.

Yeah, I know a lot of people are a little to excitable when it comes to things like server rules and such but compare it to the flood of Halo 2 pre-pubescent boys who insist upon describing illicit sexual acts with one's mother when they haven't even had any contact outside of "Omg cooties" with the opposite sex... Except for their mothers... Maybe there is an inherent Oepidus complex heightening effect to Halo :x

Short version: at least CS:Sers are on topic bitches.

Very true. But then again you've been on the clan servers (I suggest sticking to some of them). Pubs are much worse. Well, unless it's a clan run by a rich snobby 12 year old who thinks that because they have money they're a good player. But no one lasts long on them without being banned.

You're just lucky enough to have a load of good servers off the bat I think

Where are you located by the way? If you're in the UK drop by our clan server sometime and give us a game (no bitching from me unless it's a bad day )

I'm in Virginia so I'm not sure how great a ping I'll get but I might drop by.

The servers I'm on now are East Coast Guardians which is a community server with an ungodly amount of admins (for the better), it's where I go when I just want to play and the other server I frequent is B-Unit which is a clan of a bunch of stoner canadians with a rather strong affections towards hamburgers, one of my friends (who is neither canadian nor a stoner :O is a member of it) it's smaller and lotso regulars.

Team [JTf] just opened a new pub in NYC. It's a 100 tick with awesome registration. We've only had it for 3 days and it's been full for 2 nights. We have a good group of admins running it (www.teamjtf.com). There is no abuse and the players vote on the next maps always.
