600 lbs. woman survives getting thrown through sunroof

Town N Country, Florida – A woman is in stable condition after being ejected through the sunroof of her SUV during an accident.

Thirty-seven-year-old Ruth Matthews told paramedics that another vehicle cut her off in traffic, and she took evasive action to avoid a crash. Her Isuzu Amigo rolled over and she was thrown through the sunroof and onto the roadway. Investigators say she was not wearing her seatbelt.

Paramedics initially tried to fly Matthews to Tampa General Hospital, but her weight, estimated at 600 pounds, made it impossible. Emergency crews were able to transport her to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

im sure she would of made a new sunroof into it if it wasnt already there...

She must have shed a few pounds going through the sunroof.

How the hell did she fit into the car let alone through the sunroof!!

You don't even need a space shuttle, you just need an enormously obese person and a humongous SUV.

Or we could just put the astronauts inside the obese person, scrap the SUV

Or you could like, tie obese people to the hull of the space shuttle for extra protection on re-entry...

Yeah, gonna stop, going into the realm of dead baby jokes now :)

600 lbs...are u kidding me. How much can you possibly eat to become that fat. I eat tons of food and I'm 135 lbs. *sigh* fatasses...

I think even if the roof was solid she would have pummeled her mighty way through. Looks like she gave the sunroof door a good bashing.

Oh give me a break (of that kit kat bar).

Fat people are fat because they eat. If they did not eat, trust me on this, they would not be fat.

They would be dead.

But that is better than being 600lbs and so annoying your own Isuzu ejects you from it's command.

Lesson: Wear your seat harness!
or
Don't get so fat it becomes difficult to control your vehicle.
It probably took so much energy to move her arms sufficiently to turn the wheel enough to evade, she was unable to do anything but collide with the nearest object.

The genetic issue with obesity is that a certain chemical in the brain is not produced at the normal rate, this chemical causes tells the body wether it's hungry or full.

With the lack of this chemical, the people with the bad genes would constantly feel hungry and eat accordingly.

I know what its like to have insatiable hunger. Where you feel starved until you reach a certain point. even when eating a balanced meal rich in the required vitamins and minerals and nutrients that the body requires to tell you 'hey, i'm perfectly sated now'

Whenever I am really hungry, there is an intense pain in my stomach. I don't generally rely on my brain telling me when I should eat.
I feel kinda hungry right now because I haven't eaten breakfast, but I'm just ignoring it.

Obese people have very little will power to ignore feelings of hunger.

Yes... that's true... but not with just a simple change can they overcome the problems they have. They are disorders... and addictions, just as real and serious as any other addiction out there.

Refined carbohydrates are unbelievably addictive.

I know that too well. I have a donut problem and at times cannot control it, but there are times I can.

Noone is ever completely out of control, just lacking discipline.
