The Tsar Bomba is the King of all Bombs. No other man made explosion has come close to the power of 1961 Tsar Bomba test. Tested by the Soviet Union, its yield was ten times greater then all of the munitions exploded during World War 2.

I'm rarely a cynic. And what do you mean wait for you to post? I assumed since I saw no "more to come", that that was the bulk of your post.

And yes, I know it's from 1961. It's a big explosion.

which is why the thread is called "that's one big s'plosion"

well then that can pretty much be said about every single thread in this section; they can all find an appropriate thread to be posted in instead of starting a new post ..why bother having a section at all? just put up two stickies: images and videos ..whining about where to put content ends

in soviet russia.....forget it...

I hate how all the cool explosions happened so long ago, before the time of super 50,000fps cameras and super-quality resolution....all you see if a white flash and a little smoke. There's so much more you can't see!!

what you wanted strippers?

Tsar Bomba has been mentioned here many, many times, but I figure mentioning the fact that its power was actually reduced to decrease the nuclear fallout is worth mentioning again.

Wikipedia.org said:
The bomb was tested on October 30, 1961, in Novaya Zemlya, an island in the Arctic Sea. The device was scaled down from its original design of 100 megatons to reduce the resulting nuclear fallout.

50 megatons at detonation.

Amazing picture though!

and equally as amazing:

I almost had a heart attack. When I started watching the youtube video and the bomb exploded... some douchebags outside my window set off some loud firecrackers. It scared the motha f-in shit outta me.

I think I would probably have actually had a heart attack if that happened to me.
