Worst £8.95 i have ever spent, this has to be the worst and most ridiculous movie i have ever seen in my entire life. There was absolutely no point at all to the story or any sort of plot, there was no point to the movie, it was just crap and nothing happened through the entire movie at all. The movie's characters all ended up exactly where they started, apart from the guy that died.

If you ever have an inkling to see this movie, save your 2 hours and fall asleep, it'll be a lot more exciting in the end.

/me adds Razor to "the list" :p

I thought it was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. :) It's a silly overly-convulted plot, but it's still bloody hilarious to me. There's so many classic moments and characters; I could recite quotes from that movie for hours. :D

"Nobody ****s with the jesus!"

"You're about to enter a world of pain, my friend."

And so forth. :)

I just stared at it miserably and only smiled once. Maybe because i saw part of the main character in me and hope to never grow up like that, who knows...

And i have to thankyou for adding me to your list , even though i didn't like a movie you liked, you looked beyond that and added me to it anyway. Thankyou.

awesome movie, loved it, I can see its not made to please everyone

I thought "the list" was a list of people he'd like to kill...

The Big Lebowski is one of the best films of all time. Yes, I said it, ALL TIME.

It has so many funny moments - writing a check for a sum under $1, Jesus the paedophile bowler, Walter tipping the old guy out of his wheelchair thinking he's faking, Walter pulling his gun on someone just because he thought his bowl was a foul, tipping Donny's ashes into the wind and so many more that I can't list.

The plot is simply that Jeff Lebowski has his rug pissed on/stolen by someone thinking he's a millionaire of the same name. He goes to get it back and ends up getting caught up into delivering ransom money to save the millionaire's daughter. Obviously some complications happen and other characters become involved.

I suggest you watch it again. A film that gets 85% from Rotten Tomatoes can't be bad - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/big_lebowski/

One of the funniest parts for me was when the Dude is in the car trying to explain to the millionaire what's gone wrong, and why the plans they had got screwed up. Jeff Daniels is brilliant at playing a total stoner who suffers from chronic brainfarts

Strange how loads of his other movie roles have been really depressing characters...although I guess the Dude would be depressing to some people ;)

Easily one of the funniest movies of all time :)

It's so well directed, the characters are perfect, and the dialogue makes me chuckle just thinking about it.

"This aggression will not stand, man"

Definitely one of my favorite movies as well. I suppose in a way I could understand a certain type of person strongly disliking it though. Thankfully I'm not one of those people. And I'll leave you with a few of my favorite quotes.

Walter Sobchak: Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish.

Walter Sobchak: Nihilists! F#!K me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Walter Sobchak: Do you see what happens, Larry? Do you see what happens when you f@#k a stranger in the ass!

The Dude: Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

"Donny was a good bowler, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors. And bowling. And as a surfer, he explored the beaches of Southern California from La Jolla to Leo Carillo and up to Pismo. He died, as so many young men of his generation, before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you took him. As you took so many bright flowering young men at Ke Song, at Lon Doc, and Hill 64. These young men gave their lives, as did Donny. Donny who loved bowling."

XD

LOL!!!! Hill 64. I loved that part. But the best part of that scene can't be quoted. When he spreads the ashes and the wind blows them right into the Dude's face. Man a great ending to a great flick.

My avater says it all ;)

It's really just such a brilliant movie. If you like a typical Hollywood canned laugh movie than no, you woundt like The Big Lebowski. The Big Lebowski just has a more sophisticated sense of humor. The irony is so thick you can't cut through it with a chainsaw.

I LOVE THE BIG LEBOWSKI!

I thought it was great, very funny.

*Shut the f**k up, Donnie* lol.. :E

I think i would of found it better if the characters actually came to something in the end, but the whole story, to me, was pointless as it ended where it started, with every character playing absolutely no part what so ever in it.

The only part i did find funny was the part where he drops his cigarette into his lap whilst staring at the guy following him, then panics, tries to put it out and turns into a lamp post

This by far, one of the best and funniest movies ever!

I have it on DVD and watch it every now and then, every time I watch this movie I can’t stop laughing, there is just so many good moments in this film, it’s a work of art. I think there is a fan club in the states; they get together once a year, disguise themselves as the characters in the movie, and go bowling, hardcore but fun.

Like I said before, this is one of my favorite funny movies ever.

The Dude, Your Dudness, The Duderino… :farmer:

I love this movie... it's so dumb it's lovely

"Hey careful man, there's a beverage here!"

"Yeah, well, that's just, like, your... opinion, man."

"You try and pull that sh*t on saturday, I take that gun away from you, I stick it up your ass and I pull the trigger till it goes... Click!"

"Eight year olds, Dude."

And so on and so forth :)

That was no friggin' cigarette, dude :p

But I thought it was an awesome all-around movie, entertaining and bizarre, just the way I like em. Coen bros ROCK DUDE! Plus there were boobies, can't go wrong with that. :)angel:)

The fact that you called it a "cigarette" pretty much sums up why you didn't like the movie.

"Well I think you can guess what happens next."
"He fixes the fridge?"

His cigarette, hoogy, whatever you want to call it. Ok ok, i will try again...

The only part i did find funny was the part where the hippy drops his illegal drug into his lap whilst staring at the guy following him, then panics, tries to put it out and turns into a lamp post, thus proving that hippies and druggies should never drive, as they are clumsy. :smoking:

"And what was in the briefcase?"

"Uhh...papers...papers, ya know, business papers"

"And you do what for a living?"

"I'm unemployed"

The best movie ever made, it really pisses me off to see it not get the love and respect it deserves.

They added that scene to show their respect to the old Cheech and Chong movies...

You didn't help my opinion of the movie.

I think the only way i could ever find the movie funny is through alcohol.

I guess this movie either goes right over someone's head or smacks them right in the forehead.

I loved it.
