The horrible events in New Orleans made me even angrier after this video. I'm not an American, and I don't like US too much but these, these rednecks in White House will burn in hell for their incompetence and ignorance for the sake of the innocent people - you can count them in the casualties of war in Iraq.:flame: :flame: :flame:

Except they weren't casualties of war. Neither were they in Iraq.

What a **** up of epic proportions. What monkeys are in charge over there? That is disgraceful.

He was merely tying it to the fact that the money that could have been spent preventing this kind of catastropher went to Iraq instead.

One has indeed affected the other.

Wow. Guess Nagin really did have a point, huh?

exactly what i think.
who is fema or whatever it was that guy said?

Federal Emergency Management something-beginning-with-A

They're responsible for responding to this kind of thing. But the guy in charge of them was a complete idiot who bankrupted the last thing he was in charge of (a horse association or something).

EDITS: I have been informed by a source that I cannot reveal that the correct something-beginning-with-A is, in fact, Agency.

Darn Bush for not being an engineer and building a better levy. Darn bush for not taking over how the military operates and somehow magically gather everything and send it down there faster than they could. Damn bush...it's all his oil mongering and his lack of being able to be perfect thats the problem here. Also, he loses points for not seeing into the future, and he needs some other sooper power to be a good president, because all of the others had perfect presidencies.

It looks right now as if fema deliberatly are trying to kill people down their.

Its that bad,

What the hell are they doing, not letting in that water!!!:flame:

that video made me sad:(

Perhaps it's the fact that people have gotten serious chemical burns from the sewage. It's not water, it's a black sewage since there is so much junk, chemical factories and the such down there. To call it water is false.

What the **** are you going on about, Glirk? Did you even watch the video? What water are you talking about? He was talking about the three trucks of water delivered there by Wal-Mart... that were turned away by FEMA, because they supposedly didn't need it. Somehow, I doubt that Wal-Mart was trying to donate sewage water. Here's a transcript of that section of the video:
Three quick examples. We had Wal-mart deliver three trucks of water. Trailer trucks of water. FEMA turned them back, said we didn't need them. This was a week go. We had 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel on a coast guard vessel docked in my parish. The coast guard said come get the fuel right way. When we got there with our trucks, they got a word, FEMA says don't give you the fuel. Yesterday, yesterday, FEMA comes in and cuts all our emergency communications lines. They cut them without notice. Our sheriff, Harry Lee, goes back in. He reconnects the line. He posts armed guards and says no one is getting near these lines.

Is bastards censored?

Edit:I guess not.

The problem with the levies was known to him. FEMA's budget was cut in order to fuel the Iraq war. Bush took his time to make two pit-stops while serious shit was going under way.

Excuse people for being disappointed with his sorry performance.

He's the damn president. He takes responsibility for the whole country; everything is at least partly his fault. Guess it's tough at the top.

Your constant sarcastic cries of 'oh, blame Bush' are kind of misplaced in a thread where the villain is FEMA.

It is not the entity known as FEMA that is the villan, it is the bastard at the top, Brown. He knows nothing about emergency management. He was put in position by Bush to gut the program as much as possible.

Brown? You mean the man Bush lovingly dubbed "Browny"? :)

jesus christ... what a damn mess, I can't believe that a country that is considering going to MARS and who is powerful enough to wipe other countries off the globe and control the economy of the earth is so weak that they can't even save their own citizens when they need them most.

AND THEN, when they've made a complete mess, they will not even accept responsibility. "It couldn't have been foreseen" bush said. What a complete ****ing joke.

Seriously, the power the US has is in the wrong place. Theres no way that you can argue against it after having seen whats happened in the cyclone. All the "war on terror" rhetoric is complete bull when its brilliantly clear that the government really doesnt give a damn about its citizens.

If it's any comfort and I'm sure it's not, your sentiments are being echoed throughout Europe and probably throughout the entire world.

I don't know where you're from but you are so damn right with your comments. I can assure you that people from the US, such as myself, are wondering the same things. This administration has made it their objective to completely smear anyone who speaks out against them. They're altering the rights of the citizens set down by our Constitution. This President, in NO way, reflects the citizens he serves.

Everyone may well say that, but it doesnt mean a thing if you all sit around doing nothing about it.

We tried to do something about it during the last election. We failed though because that dickhead is still in office. What can we do now though? The Republicans control all the power in the major branches. :(

Get a bunch of people together and take over local government positions. A lot of bylaws have clauses in them that say you can eject local government if there is enough support. Take any position you can, even the crappy ones, whatever you can hold.

Failing that, write letters, protest, make pamphlets... use that "freedom of speech" to do something good for a change.

Call for resignation/cooperation of local officials, take what you can and do something

Get support, you need LOTS to make a difference, but do something while people are still upset about this or your chance will lapse.

It sounds good and I agree with you but there's something else we have to worry about. Other people.

Like I said, this administration has made it its mission to crap on anyone who opposes them. Some people think and believe just as the government tells them. I think some people fear it now.

I've signed petitions for resignations and cooperation. I've also sent letters and e-mails. Both seem to have little impact though. I will not, however, give up.

we sure as hell will now...

"H.A.A.R.P." anyone? ;)

or is it "H.A.R.R.P." ?

do you guys get potential ones every week?
During the summer and fall? Yeah, pretty much... especially since the water temperature is higher than usual... for one reason or another. Last year Florida got hit by four major hurricanes in less than six weeks, IIRC. Before last year, we had a lucky streak of about 40 years (other than Andrew in 1992) where just about every one missed us.

EDIT: Hurricane season goes from June to November... and there are usually around 15 named storms. It's a little more than one every two weeks on average for the whole hurricane season... but they tend to be more frequent in the middle. For example, three major hurricanes were created within like 10 days of each other last year.

Poor bastard... the poor guy at the top, too... (not the top of FEMA, the Secretary... i think)...

This is what happens when you get beuracracy and more beauracracy. Why was it that the first order of the day was to check authorization? Why wasn't it saving lives?
