The Chronicles of Riddick 2!!!

Sick. I was going to watch the first one again tonight, an odd coincidence.

The first was god awful :) (but I enjoyed it - in a low budget, made for tv, only cause i'm a sc-fi fan, kind of way)

It was a crock though.

Good news i guess, i liked the first and its story, but i thought the script was duff :p

Didn't CoR blow a ridiculous amount of ass?

Yeah, wasn't how you could say...warmly recieved. I thought it was fun though. I cringed quite abit mind, listening to those awful, awful lines.

"KIERA! MOVE THAT ASS!"

:|

It's the science fiction equivalent of porn. It's got insane characters, ridiculous situations, and stuff blowing up and people shooting stuff all the time. For the same reasons its not a great piece of cinema, its also quite fun as long as you're a nerd. :D
Diesel knows this, being a nerd himself (look up any interview with him if you don't believe me) and if he wants to do a sequel its fine with me.

The Chronicles of Riddick was a great movie.

I really like CoR as well as Pitch Black. Two very different films set in the same universe around the same character is something you don't actually see that often.
But uh...Isn't Riddick pretty much master of the universe now? I can't remember the end all that well.

Pitch Black wasn't a bad action flick.

Riddick is realy quite terrible tho. It's harmless sci-fi fun - but sooooo many other movies and series have done everything it attempts to do soooooo much better.

If you watched conan recently - he said he used to play dungeon and dragons the roleplaying game. Nerd Alert!!

Riddick is a trilogy. The story is just really interesting to me. Loved it.

Agree with this post 100%. Riddick is an awesome character. And yes, he is the master of the necromancers now.

I was left somewhat confused by the ending, although its an interesting twist, wonering where they will take it...

I also thought the Vaako/Dame relationship was brilliant, completley ripped off from Machbeth but great to watch nonetheless.

Diesel talked about how he wants the next film to bring Riddick to the Underverse, and said it would likely end up with an R rating if its made how its intended.

Thanks for the info, i didn't know that :)

I thought it was actually a REALLY cool movie.

*spoiler*
I like how the main bad guy told Riddick in the beginning of the movie "what you kill, you keep" or something like that and he hands back the knife to riddick, then at the end riddick kills him, and he ends up getting full control over the necromongers, it fit soooo perfectly. It was an awesome ending, it left the viewer with the question "well, what happends next?" which is the perfect way to end a sequel and lead it into a trilogy. Awesome movie, can't wait.

i thought Riddick was a neat movie as well.
i guess it wasn't going to impress everyone...and neither will the next movie but as long as the pple watching like it, all is good :)

I can't wait for this, pitch black rox and CoR was sweet regardless of what others think...

Oh man...Riddick...no thanks.

Since when does rock burst into a big flame wall when it turns it's 800 degrees? Wasn't it supposed to be 800 in the sun and -800 or something in the shade? They kinda forgot about the -800...as they were just running around outside as normal. Don't even get me started on the prison with a hole at the top with a handy little chain/rope coming down...

At the end Riddick is getting his ass handed to him by the guy moving ultra-fast...then all of a sudden he's able to predict where the guy is moving and kills him...

Pitch Black was alright...but CoR sucked balls :|

The movie's not exactly what you'd call serious, but this is the number one thing that detractors like to point at and wag their finger, so I thought I'd point out what was missed when they watched the movie. Before they plan their escape a character (one of the prisoners I believe) makes mention of the fact that there is a safe period before the sun comes up, but before the direct sunlight hits and incinerates everything. They make the run out on the surface during this period.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Hades hell type place crossed with a Nebula thing. Hard to put into words :p

Im thinking a dark world where everything is not what it seems.

I liked Pitch Black. I mean, you could tell that the directer wasn't aspiring to much, just a cheap Alien clone. But it was a GOOD cheap alien clone. Chronicles of Riddick was trying to be an epic space saga, and ended up not being that good. I liked it enough, but my girlfriend insists that it's the worst movie ever made.

I'm forcing her to see this one with me, too.

I loved Pitch Black, it was a great film
CoR wasn't that great, I kinda found it boring but I wasn't really paying attention to it when I was watching it, I'll have to watch it again sometime.
The new one sounds good though, the underverse sounds interesting. I imagine it as a kind of hell but with blueish flames, kinda like gas flames, instead of the normal orangey ones you always see.

Oh man huge blue flames. Blackholes eating planets. + other weird CGI effects oh man cant wait!!
