The Creation Config for all you NPC needs.

Heres a little config i knocked up for peeps.

Of course you don't need all of it, Just take the binds if you like.

The Creation Config v 0.1 by iluyshin.

Readme:

Vehicles: Helicopters and Gunships will hover about in a cicrle then find a fixed spot to stay, this is due to no way points on the
map for them to follow. Striders will attack anything hostile that gets close to it, If attacked by an antliongaurd the strider
will take off.

Snipers: Sniper model do not move/react/have a weapon model, They can only be killed by grenades, rockets , Secondary fire from ar2.

Turrets: Turrets are always hostile, To get them to stand up, place them on a flat surface have the Rocket launcher in hand or
grav gun when placing them (dunno why but seems to work better with these weapons) Be close to the ground. Moving them: Pick up
from directly behind with grav gun or use button, Then crouch and place.

Barnacles: Rarely work, They normally end up getting stuck on the floor.

Weapons: Stunsticks only work with metrocops. I didn't bother putting in weapons which do not work. RPG's will work with combine
troops but there is no firing and reloading animation.

FAQS:

Q: Why no main NPC's like alyx.
A: Coz i don't like them.

Q: These keys are funny why did you put them like this?
A: I have used this setup for every FPS for the last 10 years, I won't change now.

Q: How do you spawn a medic class with resistance citizens?
A: That will come when it works fully.

Q: Where are the elite combine troops?
A: On holiday.

All you need to do i press a weapon key and any overwatch or citizen will spawn with that weapon, Much better than binding a key with that model with that weapon over and over.
 
Pfft what I want is a CS like commands menu.

I press a button and a branching list comes off that lets me select what

I'd love it if anyone could do that, but sounds kinda impossible to me. But then again, people can do all sorts of stuff

I think you could make it but spawning like 20 combine soldiers would take ages :D
 
Elite troops are npc_combine_s, just like normal combine. I don't think you can spawn them. I hope someone proves me wrong.
 
They use model 295, Only reason i can think of is that every time you encounter the elite troops is in a scripted scene.

Tho that doesn't explain why you can't spawn nova prospect troops.

not really, if it worked like the menu system did in TF for Q1,

example:

Engineer, bring up build menu, click 1 to build it, thats 2 buttons you had to press just to build an ammo depot.

or,

bind "x" impulse 1;wait;wait;impulse 2;wait;wait
that would automatically build the ammo depot

for his example you could do something similar if the impulses were similar

bind "x" impulse 1;wait;wait;impulse 1;wait;wait;impulse 3;wait;

you get what im saying..

maybe it was AA

maybe it was luck

it was not the keys

WASD became famous back in the q1/q2 days when thresh owned everyone, that is what i have been using , with a few exceptions...

to those who wont use it because of the key config

notepad is your friend =P
