The CS: S outcome...

Hi all.

I was intended to do a review for CS:S a fully fledged excellent review and I coulden't wait I was so excited. But from the experince I have had from tonight I think I put the review on hold.

Don't get me wrong Valve I love I am the greasy geek fanboy.
Don't get me wrong Played CS since day one till now and I can see potential with CS:S.

Its just... I want to give Valve the chance to sort CS:S out before I review it because at the state its in now.... I surprised anyone would rate it more than 10%.

This is not a flame forum, just my thoughts I like to post and ask simply is this version we downloaded Alpha or beta as by sure it can't be retail.

Anyway give it afew patches down line and I write my review..... Just need to try get it run a bit faster than 20fps in 800x600 everything set lowest on my Xp3000,512mb, radeon9700 pr0 and find out what the lag is alot my friends are getting when it states "30 ping"..........

Last thought! What is it with the Flash Bang Exploit still in it after valve claimed it be repaired by release? Did they know of this bug in beta?

I tottally agree, i have never been so excited, people at work were pointing in the canteen and saying ooooooo errr look at the weird guy! why? maybe casue i was sitting there with a big smile on my face and the fact that my d1ck was in my hand! CS source day dreaming!!!!!

Got home slapped it on, wait stop!!! Did i jsut pay for for this pile of donkey doo doo.

Constant juddering, 100000 bugs, people throwing 50 flash bangs after buying them once, walking throuhg walls etc etc

Wait i must of downloaded the ALPHA by mistake, someone point me the right way?

No says the community, we all got conned and valve rushed this out to shut us all up, while they spend another 10 years preparing hl2.

CS source complete my ass, wouldnt even class this as a beta

Sort out this ALPHA PILE OF CRAP VALVE!!!!

uhh i dont know whats wrong with your machine, but CS:source runs GREAT, with an average FPS of ~60 on mine.

specs:
Athlon xp 2500
ATI 9500
1 gig DDR ram

I've seen a few lag burps on some servers, but other than that, im quite happy and impressed with what valve has done with CS. WELL DONE VALVE! I COMMEND YOU ALL!

I'm getting smooth running (no exact fps results as of yet) on my system:

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ @ 3200+
512MB PC3200 RAM
Radeon 9200 256MB

and everything's working fine for me so I think you're exaggerating a bit here....

Nice one lads, Again I not trying to flame.... Just my opinion. I congratz you on your running and opinion.

I really do wish I could feel the same but after 2 formats and nuermous tweaks I given up.
Not sure whats wrong with my rig other games are fine.

What road did you take to find the good download

Played from BETA

Ok Ok, im not the most experienced CS player in the world, i dont know the mik from the mak in the game tbh, but i have played a bit of 1.6 and played source right from the BETA version. I always died so quickly in 1.6 and thought to myself this is it, get in with some guys, learn a bit about the game improve my aim and get GOOD. Started playing the BETA and thought WOW this is goign to be a good game. Carried on playing BETA getting good at learning de_dust thinking cant wait till it comes out, guna be da NUTZ. Day it comes out started playing, then thought hang on, 2 models er WTF, same as BETA. PLayed some more game crashed. Played some more started getting stuttering in game. Played some more game crashed. I was like good game but buggy buggy. Then this topped it off, i found a bug in the BETA game to throw 2 nades or smokes or flashes at same time, thinking this is really funny in BETA as can nade loadsa guys with 2 nade bug. Did not even think to try it in proper version as thought "nah, surely be fixed", then next thing i see is double nade bug being used. WTF. Sort it out valve, cs:source has potential to be amazing. BUT PLEASE update the game quickly, a pre-release to keep us gamers slightly amused before HL2 and proper source comes out isn't on. We would rather wait, and im sure many would agree. Congrats on a massive following valve, but u gotta live up to expectations on this one, and if u read this, bear in mind im so under critical towards this game as im still learning the mik from the mak! Others are going to be much more harsh than me.

I can't see what's wrong with CSS.

From the beta, it's more maps, more really great maps that took CSS to another level, really. Just look at office. Tell me ONE person who have given office negative critisism. NO ONE!

Bugs, buga buga. There will allways be bugs. There are still bugs in HL, CS1.6, CS:CZ and FarCry and Doom 3, that's what the PATCHES ARE FOR!

"oh noezzz it LagezZ!!" WELL, GET YEEER FRIKKING KOMPUTER TO W0RK PROPERLY THEN! ...... I mean, you can't play a DX9 game with an P2 300Mhz and 32mb nvidia TNT2 with 32MB ram.. No you can't. I don't like it either, but to play it well you need to spend pretty much money.

You expected to much. But welcome to the reality. This is the reality. Bugs will never ever dissapear.

Things that is kinda lame is that there are no new player models. That makes the game look kinda one-sided, but you don't think of that as you play the new maps. It's fcking fun. If you don't like it, then SHUT THE FµCK UP! Please!

Honstly.. We try get a mature chat about the game and your babble on about people with 300mhz?

We all got top pc's... not top range but good enough to run HL2/CS:S and I have a 3mb line.

Just were experince the bad side of CS while others experince the greater side thats all.

I have tweaked my PC fully not sure whats wrong ... I wait a while.

I am on the good experience side minus the hostages being stupider in this version (notice how they dont duck when you shoot?) and the chickens missing in Italy.

Oh, and the lack of new player models, but I'm patient and they will come.

I'm having an awesome time with CSS.

By the way, 10%? You have to be kidding me, just because it isnt worh it doesn't mean you should give it 10 percent.
Also, don't hate a game becasue it doesn't run well on your computer

Yeah, the hostages are 1.6 hostages though. You remember 1.6? Yes, you should complain about them being stupid, not CSS - They were just shoved in there because they haven't implemented the CZ A.I. Yet.

By the way: I get the mostly good side of CSS, but it still slowsdown - Probably they haven't made everything perfect "system-wise" and will get it better over patches.
