The Darkness Demo Clip

Looks like a few cool things but the games failing on the basics... AI, clipping and the cops lines.

The first two i suppose will be fixed, but the cops seemed to be totally undaunted by the fact you're throwing demons at them? It'd be nice if they were doing a few WTH IS THAT!'s

Anyway looks ok

Thoes black holes that he opens up are pretty cool.

It looked cool... definitely an interesting premise of you being a monster.

But I was trying to figure out the point of it from that demo.

Anyways, the AI looked kind of awful in its reaction times, etc.

Nice, this game could kick ass.

Trailers often show the ai set to 'easier than easy', or give god mode, so they can give you a look at the game without getting killed. I wouldn't worry about the ai just yet ;)

I think the AI was there to show some cool moves etc., like those two guys simply standing in front of that restaurant, waiting for the player to kill them.

Not mindblowing but interesting.

Next-gen is kinda overrated tbh. Next-gen is being able to turn on a TV in the game and change channels and be able to watch stuff? How hard can that be to implement in a game?

Been following this for a while. Looks kickass. Now i cant deside should i get it for 360/ps3 or is it coming out on pc.....

Looks neat, but weird too. Not sure what to think of it quite yet, but it looks very nice.

Dude, talk about failing at the basics. Where was his frickin crosshair? No wonder he's having such a hard time hitting the lights...

I like the idea of a game that isn't stealth where you're best to avoid light (or create darkness). But uhh... yeah, besides that pretty much the whole thing smacked of meh to me.

The TV thing being "next-gen" is a load too, I'll bet it COULD have been done in the past, but what's the freakin point of it? "Yeah, you can chill out from playing the game and just watch a movie." Cause that's the first thing on the player's mind after he just harnessed unholy legions of demons to tear apart a SWAT team bent on turning him into a corpse. Or more accurately, standing there getting shot at, and not really protesting at it all that much besides yelling tired cliches at you (which are also pointless... I hate in games when cops tell you to "give it up and turn yourself in peaceably", when the game never gives you the option to do so... how's that for next-gen?).

But seriously, tired of playing and wanna chill and watch a movie? There's already this thing called save and exit (which is decidedly last-gen already and works remarkably better), use it and go watch an ACTUAL MOVIE. Can you freakin imagine yourself watching a movie on a TV, inside of a game, on your own TV? Oh, but dude, you can get a monster to change the channel! ****, I'm sold.

Gah... sorry, I don't often rant, but I couldn't get over how blatantly retarded this was. But yeah, all that said, I can see it having some application, like he said with story-related movies and stuff. I can see it being kinda cool if you get news reports of stuff you've done in-game, for instance. But besides that, they already had in-game shows in Max Payne, and they were entertaining enough without being full-motion (that was kind of half the charm, I thought), but even so were kind of a distraction to the fast-paced gameplay. When they implement this kind of thing into something like the Sims, I'll be less skeptical.
