The difference between communists and socialists?

Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but I was wandering what exactly the difference between these two idealigies is? I had always assumed they were the same thing, but I have seen them listed seperatly from one another.

They share the same idols, Che, Lenin, Trotsky, pick whomever you want. Other than that, they are different in the sense that socialists are lite communists; they've been mugged of their socialist-utopia dream and now that the only thing they can do now is to claim to work for the "working-class" and sometimes quietly support terror organisations financially(FARC, PFLP,) economically and financially. In essence, they are different in their methods of bringing about the "will of the people". The communists, Stalin for excample, "did what he had to do" according the Russian Nashists(No, not Nazis, even though it's indistinguishably close), the Socialists are the "useful idiots" in Lenin's words, what will do anything to cover up or blindly support the actions carried out in the name of communism.

In short,

Communism = Kill our opponents. Criticize me and I will kill you for being against "the people". You're a freedom fighter you say? Well, we give AKs to all "progressive elements".

Socialism = We're not communists, but we still support the freedom fighters who fight for the people. All hail Che. He fought for the people. What do you mean he killed the people? I'm sorry, but what you need to realize is the situation is very complex and Blah blah blah blah blah blah. The good part about them is that their social politics are good for the weaker persons of society.

All socialists and communists idolize Lenin in the same way that all on the right wing policial spectrum worship right wing extremists like Ann Coulter and Adolph Hitler, that is they dont.

Dont just assume such silliness Nemesis.

The thing is that the communist label has more and more moved towards meaning stalinist, that is why most communists are shying away from that label and call themselves socialists instead. Using that labeling system, socialists rarely support any kind of political murder or authorian regimes.

Yes, it's quite common for two people most would regard as socialists too think the other one is too right wing and not a socialist at all.

I don't get why you hate certain political groups. I mean any government has a nice well paid job for people like you. in any case how would you like to move to Holland?

Most likely because all the older people have stories about how their friend was beheaded by communist spies/commandos when they were doing their service in the 38th.

That and most recently the attack on one of our warships, which was sunk by a NK ship.
