Ugh anyone else find the discovery channel getting lamer by the day? I rarely watch TV but when I do I like watching something on science, but every damn time I turn it over there its about house remodeling...WTF!?! Theres barely any shows worth watching now, its like the damn reality home remodeling crap has taken over. Anyone else feel my pain?? Thoughts?
 
I dunno why they show that shit in the US but here in Canada its still the best show for animal sex
 
I've found that the discovery channel has gotten better over the last year, showing more cool stuff, and less geeky stuff.
 
i like programs bout alians and WW2 and there is plenty of that in the uk
 
yo hammer, i agree. when we finally got cable, my dad was all like "wow, i thought that the discovery channel was supposed to be good. there isn't sh*t on it worth watching" and i'd have to agree, i really have no interest in all those freakin house shows or monster anything. i wanna see something intriguing about ... well science stuff. discovery channel, to me seems more like... bravo or somethin like that. next thing they're gonna have mechanic's eye for the handy guy or some bs like that.
 
hmmm it has daily planet which i watch if its on. Aswell as American Chopper and Monster garage. I enjoy both of those. But with those reality house building things, they're so incredibly boring and theres so many of them now. Its horrible. I'd say that the channel is pretty good overall tho.
 
There are way to many programs about WW2, it sickens me. I love their Area 51 programs, or just in general their UFO programs...
 
yeah there's essentially a media blackout here in the US concerning UFO's, Aliens, area-51 etc... we never hear ANYTHING about that stuff. only place you can get info on all that, basically is from this radio show at night. Art Bell anyone? (now called coast to coast am with george noory) ... but basically, i heard europe gets all the good programming.

I pay £5 a month for the Discovery / Discovery Home and Leisure package on NTL and I never watch it. Yankie workshop is cool when you're bored, but other than that tv in general doesnt interest me great deal.

Ive noticed this too.
I USED to like TLC and TDC, but now they all play "sthuper housth remodeling!"
and ghey shows about kids and such, nothing science/war/industrial related.
Theres still the History Channel though

lol before you know it the History Channel will have shows about house remodeling in the 1950s :rolling:. They must be makin some good money of that crap though...
 
Discovery is bad, but TLC makes it glow in the light of comparison. Why the hell does "The Learning Channel" show nothing but World's Sexiest Police Chases 8, Tornado Storm, Tornado Warning, Tornado Attack and When Animals Attack The World's Sexiest Police Chases 8?
How much can one possibly learn from any of these things to the extent that they must be broadcast for eight hours each day?
At least Trading Spaces is sporadically amusing.

75% of TLC's programming is now house remodeling shows. I'm glad I'm not the only person who isn't buying into this whole wave of crappy house shows.

I like the Science Channel, formerly called the discovery science channel.

:( I dont have the Science Channel...lol I want a reality Tv show where they jack all of a guys shit while hes at work and kill his family..then they leave cameras all over and watch as in shock he realizes what has happened! :laugh:

Heh, I remember catching the end of one of the "while you were out shows" ...

Husband:Hey honey.....wait......whats going on?
Wife:Surprise! We're going to be on While you were out!
Husband: What the **** is this ****?!?!
Wife: You don't like it?
Husband:I am seriously pissed off........I mean.......what the ****??
Wife:I......I thought you would like it....
Husband:How could you do this to me?!?
Wife: (almost crying) I'm sorry.......I thought you would like it!

the only channels i watch are fox, foxnews, the history channel, and comedy central (and sometimes sci-fi). dont even bother checking the rest :-\
 
I was watching the Discovery Channel today for a while, I like the show called "How it's made" its cool.
