The Evolution of Life in 60 Seconds

but they told me at church that earth was created in seven days ?

The Evolution of Life in 60 Seconds is an experiment in scale: By condensing 4.6 billion years of history into a minute, the video is a self-contained timepiece. Like a specialized clock, it gives one a sense of perspective. Everything ? from the formation of the Earth, to the Cambrian Explosion, to the evolution of mice and squirrels ? is proportionate to everything else, displaying humankind as a blip, almost indiscernible in the layered course of history.

Each event in the Evolution of Life fades gradually over the course of the minute, leaving typographic traces that echo all the way to the present day. Just as our blood still bears the salt water of our most ancient evolutionary ancestors.

........

That was ****ing dumb.. I was expecting it to show a comet hit the earth or something and a cell growing gradually and going through all stages of life until it became man (no I don't mean Spore).

But seriously, what the crap? Just text with dots in the background? Pshaw.

Is it just me or did that clock go past 60 seconds.

EDIT: I guess it didn't start exactly vertical and so it didn't end there.

"Here's some things you probably don't understand, followed by some things you probably would if they weren't played so closely together."

Cool video. :p

lol, the text is relative to how long each thing has been around since life began ..so mankind is a very brief flash right before it says now ..it's a timeline with the text representing the passage of time.

I blame video games for killing attention spans in yout'

i thought the video was rather cool. The ending made me smile a little.

****ing thing sucks!

Yeah I was expecting some cool animation or somethin'
