Just got back from a screening. Really makes me want to jump around and punch things. Christian Bale is for sure getting an Oscar nomination.
The plot is regular boxing movie. Beat down Boston suburb scrappy fighter with crazy trashy family rises from the ashes to awesomeness. There is a big focus on family. The middle drags a little bit, but the last 30 min are really intense. If you like boxing/fighting/sports movie. It's definitely a winner.
I also really liked how all of the boxing scenes were shot in the style of a sports show as you would expect to see boxing on TV.
I give it a 9/10
