First there was Communion, then there was Fire in the Sky, now there's...The Fourth Kind (and no, its not a sequel to Close Encounters of the Third Kind).

Its yet another movie based on "true events" about aliens. You know, the kind of aliens that likes to abduct mountain hicks and probe them repeatedly. When I was 10, I was scared to death of aliens, but now, I almost wish they would take me away. I do believe something is happening to these people, but its more of a psychological issue than extraterrestrial issue. Here is a trailer for the movie:

But wasn't the whole UFO/alien craze more popular back in the 90's? You had "fact based" shows like Unsolved Mysteries and Sightings. There was a TV special called Intruders, loosely based on Bud Hopkins book of the same name. There was the Alien Autopsy special fox aired... actually, fox aired a number of ufo/alien specials (usually hosted by Johnathan Frank). And there were shows like X-Files, which played along with this fascination. But now there's not too much, except for UFO Hunters (which is really lame).

i do admit, even though I don't believe in this stuff, it still gives me the willies... especially when done well:

(when I saw this the first time, the scene at 7:15, i nearly shat myself)

might see it.

how come Mila uses her real name for this movie? some kind of new holywood trend?

I think she did that just for the trailer, just to show that its all based on "real" events...

Someone elsewhere said it reminded them a bit of the Mothman Prophecies, which daftness aside isn't an entirely bad film (esp the chapstick scene). Trailer certainly looks good, but it has rental market written all over it.
