Saw the film this morning and I've gotta say I was impressed. It was my 4th most looked forward to superhero film this year after Batman, Hancock and Iron Man but I actually came out with a huge smile on my face and found myself wanting more.

Granted, it's not quite as good as Iron Man, but the action scenes are equally if not more exciting and there's some genuinely inventive bits. However, it's hampered a bit by the campness I always associate with Hulk. Perhaps it's the charm with some people but his primal "Hulk SMASH!" phrases and when he claps his hand to put out fires all seem a little out of place.

I particularly liked the weaving of a larger universe evident in this film in preparation for the Avengers film in 2011 with lots of military hardware having Stark Industries stamped across it and several references to SHIELD, Nick Fury and even what I reckon was a subtle hint towards Captain America.

There was also a supremely fanwanky moment that set the film up for a sequel; one I would readily welcome.

Overall, 8/10.

For the record, Iron Man got 9.

All of the action scenes look like they're ripped straight out of a video game, judging by the trailers.

Do they feel that way?

In a good way, yes. In the same way that some of the best fight sequences in the Matrix felt like that. The action scenes made me want to buy the game if that gives you any indication...

I'll probably go see it this weekend. :D

As long as it isn't as boring and confusing as Ang Lee's The Hulk.

Far from it! The original cut was 2 hours 15 minutes and they actually took out about 25 minutes of talking for fear it would go the same way. Personally, I could have stood another 25 minutes of Edward Norton on screen, but as it stands it's probably best kept for a DVD Director's Cut.

Do Stark and Fury actually appear in the film?

I've been looking forward to seeing this, Edward Norton is my homeboy.

Halflife2.net's opinion was all I was waiting for to get excited for this movie :D

Do Stark and Fury actually appear in the film?

Yes and only by name.

Director Louis Leterrier swears up and down that Captain America makes an appearance in The Incredible Hulk -- but at this point, it just isn't clear how you may see it. In an interview with Collider, Leterrier declared that it was just an Easter Egg and refused to give any hints as to where it would appear in order to keep the fun. "It's an Easter egg. It's not like oh, it's Captain America and it changes everything. It's still a Hulk movie, but it's really Captain America and it's there, you'll see. It's the real deal. You have to look for it."

But in an interview with SOS Hollywood, Leterrier revealed it was an actual scene that had landed on the cutting room floor. "There's a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decides to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we've cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America! At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet ? but I cannot tell you where or when ? and the material will definitely be on the DVD."

It is possible the scene could end up after the credits roll, like the Nick Fury cameo in Iron Man (which was also added after press screenings). But as of now, it seems to exist only in the Easter egg laden opening credits. But I'm wondering who the heck is playing Captain America in this cameo -- or if we only see him from the back in a nonspeaking role?

Wowwww. :E

hl2.net is gay for edward norton.

A man worthy of it.

Mmmmmmm... *drool*

MOVIE WAS ****ING INCREDIBLE. OMG. LOVED EVERY SECOND.

I'm going to go lift heavy weights and inject gamma radiation into my brain. Fags.

Pesmerga even looks like Norton, this will help.

Going to go see it tonight. Im expecting it to be good.

It was enjoyable and unintentionally funny.

I loved how it changed tone on the toss of a coin, "Oh here's Bruce in a pizza delivery suit hehe- OH GOD DRAMATIC FLASHBACK".

I missed the entire last battle due to the acquiantance I was with :naughty: but I'm going to see it again this week with a couple of mates so it works out.

I enjoyed it, though I don't think they should have cut so much stuff it could have done with a bit more story and dialogue.
I know Ed Norton was well pissed off about the editing, he refused to help with publicity (he wrote it as well fyi).

Wait, didn't someone else write it first but Norton later re-edited certain parts and claimed he wrote it? I suppose there's two sides to each story and mine might be outdated, but I did remember reading about that somewhere a while ago.

Ninja edit

The director of this film has done the following masterpieces:

Transporter 1 & 2
Danny the Dog

AND the film is rated PG-13. I think the above opinions aren't accurate reflections of the films quality but rather biased by the Law of Cool.

I've never much been into superhero movies, but I might go see it for the sake of seeing Liv Tyler.

and it was. Definitely much much much better then the 1st.

I would say both movies have their draws. I really did like the first for actually trying something different, even if it was bloated.

Oh, and though Norton was good... Tyler was pretty piss poor.

Good enough film.

Tony Stark appears at the end and starts talking to the general about what is obviously the Avengers. There is almost definitly going to be an Avengers film I'd say.

I assume that the genetic modification programme they mentioned is the one that created Captain America, yes?

My guess is that Mr. Blue becomes the Leader (His brain was doing weird swelling shit when Abomination smacked him).

Is there an after-credits scene like in Iron Man? I wasn't able to stay till after the credits or my lift home would have gone without me.

Yes Yes Yes No

Saw it. Loved it.

Loved all the little nods at other stuff here and there, although Rio already mentioned most of them, although I did notice right in the beginning credits:

When all those documents are flashing at the screen one of them stays on the screen for about 2 seconds with the words Nick Fury on it

Plus a few Stark Industry documents.

Interesting read. I'm glad they changed most of those things. What Marvel films are planned? I know there's a Wolverine film in the works, the guy in that article mentions a Captain America film, I hadn't heard anything about that. An Avengers film seems likely, but are they going to have a film dedicated to every single member of the team first?

Edit: I just looked at Wikipedia. I hadn't realised that an Avengers film series had been offically announced. Fair enough.

Well right now Thor, Captain America, and Ant Man are all in the works. I hear a Nick Fury movie is supposed to come out in 2010, although I forgot where I read that.

The way its looking with the two major references we've had so far (Nick Fury in Iron Man, Tony Stark in Hulk) its gonna be based on The Ultimates.

They've got:
Iron Man (2008)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
The Incredible Hulk 2 (2011)
Thor (2010)
The First Avenger: Captain America (2011)

All of these will lay the foundations for:
The Avengers (2011)
