Now... I think its pretty obvious that police won't be investigating this at all so Jack will most certainly be taking this to Civil court. Personally I don't think he has a leg to stand on but I can't be sure.

he's not out for the count guys ...he's been doing this for decades (music industry) ...Bully is coming out, so is 25 to life, and just wait till the right wing wackos like Jack see how realistic the graphics are in upcoming next gen consoles

Jack is not special. He is not a unique snow flake as they say. He is just the latest vocal opponent of whatever is "corrupting" our youth at the moment. When my dad was growing up it was rock and roll devil music. Then it was comic books then movies and rap music. Today it’s videogames. If we were to succeed in getting Jack blacklisted from the major news outlets someone else would simply take his place. Imagine him as an actor playing a part in a play. The point is that Jack Thompson is not important. If he were to be fired a new actor would simply take up the role. The same lines would still be delivered in the same way and the same audience would pay to see it. We are actually fortunate that the current actor is so impotent in his role. Imagine what might happen if some charming, efficacious attorney took his place. The more I consider it the more I think we may be lucky to have Jack playing the part of the alarmist. The alternative might be someone who is actually capable. "

Jack Thompson continues to push at Penny Arcade

After recent news that the Seattle Police were not to take action against the staff of Penny Arcade, Jack Thompson has sent an email to us in which he claims he knows the reason.

Thompson said he had received a call from the Seattle Police Department, and claims an investigator assured him that the reason it has not yet proceeded is because Penny Arcade is not located in Seattle.

Thompson made further allegations in the email and said he would "respectfully suggest that there is far more here than meets the eye."

EDIT: Also, Sony is a hardware manufacturer. You don't blame IBM or ATi because their hardware could display porn and/or violence. That's the software developer's decision. Then, from there, it's the retailer's decision as to whether or not they want to carry it. Finally, from there, it's the parent's decision as to whether or not they want to let their children play/watch it.

... and he obviously doesn't know much about their culture if he's claiming the stuff we get from them is worse than the stuff they have in their own country. There is quite a bit of violent and disturbing shit that would never make it to market in the states... and, yet, contrary to Jack Thompson's theory... they still have a more polite, reserved, and non-violent society.

Plus, Microsoft is pumping out stuff that's just as bad as the stuff you see on Sony consoles... and, in some cases, it's significantly worse. In fact, IIRC, the PS2 got a censored version of BMX XXX while the uncensored version was released on the Xbox.
