The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Rating.

Totally deserved, Peter Jackson, Sam Raimi & the late Stanley Kubrick should be remembered for being three of the greatest Directors since film making began

I'm not surprised :)

I'm just amazed when I overlook the movies. Even Star Wars pale compared to LOTR.

yep, although star wars has a special place for me, lotr just reaches that extra level for me, and it seems like return of the king is gonna go even further.

Now that all these reviewers have hyped it up, it better be good when i go and see it.

I'm excited as hell to see ROTK. It's gonna be a long one though.. 3 hours 20 min. They have a lot of book to wrap up in this one..

Does this make sense to anyone else?

No movie is perfect. I think it's assumed that it doesn't get a perfect rating even if they don't say anything bad about it.

The star system sucks for that reason... it's based on an 8-point scale... rather than 100 pt s.

fenric, umm, no offense, but do you really think sam raimi and peter jackson should be mentioned in the same breath as stanley kubrik? that's craziness. i mean, what has sam raimi done? the over-rated 'spiderman'? the over-rated 'a simple plan'? sure the 'evil dead' series is fun and smart, but his body of work pales in comparison to kubriks.. come on. and yeah, 'lotr' is awesome, but let's see what else peter jackson does before we compare him to the creator of at least 4 (arguably 8) masterpieces. i'm just sayin' is all.

I don't think anyone would DARE to give it a bad rating. They would be murdered in the most brutal fashion by millions of LoTR fans.

... which should make the next SA Truth Media column rather entertaining. :cheese:

Spiderman was good, not exceptional but good. I've never heard about those other movies lil' timmy. I guess you probably have a point.

Spider man was way way overated.

I do think Jackson is worthy of the comparison.
Doing LOTR is no mean feet. Doing it well is astonishing.

I saw it today!! AWSOME movie, best movie EVER!!! 5 out of 5 stars... and no not warez. It was legal and in a theater :D Call me lucky...very lucky... was among the first in my country to see it legaly :)

Not to give away anything...but does it include the "story withing a story" which is at the end of the book, at the end of the movie, MaxiKana? I dont want to say what it is 'cause it gives away Frodo's fate.

There is talk that Jackson will tackle 'The hobbit' after he films king Kong. I think it would be good if he did. Although the story isn't as broad or adult as the LoTR, it would be a nice to see jackson bring it to life, rather than have a lesser director foul it up.

Return of the King for Oscar: Best Picture!

hehe, got carried away there... :)

You think you got carried away? My family agreed to name our new puppy Smeagol. :) After all of the fussing over his name, they decided Smeagol would be perfect.

He he, now I have a reason to go outside and yell Smeagol. :)
