Yesterday it was announced by Valve that Day of Defeat: Source finally has a release date (September 26th!). When enquiring about getting a screenshot (ours is the one on the left, the other two are new releases from IGN PC), I also decided to ask Doug regarding the Lost Coast and when it will be released. This is his response:
What does this mean? Well, in my opinion it simply means that The Lost Coast just isn't finished yet. Although there is another possible theory before screaming the word "delayed" like a crazy person. For months now people have been wanting Day of Defeat: Source and that means there's a fair possibility that they're releasing it before the Lost Coast because people seem to want DOD: Source more. And so they should...[br]It's worth remembering that although the Lost Coast will look great, the amount of game play isn't worth getting excited about. Yes, it's been announced that it does reveal slightly more of the HL2 story, but the truth is that it will only take place across a map or two that were cut from the original Half-Life 2. Enjoy The Lost Coast, but don't get your hopes up of it being any more than two maps of gameplay.[br]OK, so you've heard our opinions on the revised release schedule, and now we want to hear yours. Visit this thread (the comments of this news post) and vote for what reason you think has caused all this new controversy. I'll post the results later![br]Lost Coast will follow DoD. No specific date to share just yet.
