hmm what can i say, i like half life, i am 15, ive decided to join because i started learning the half life 2 hammer editor and want to make maps, show pics, have feedback etc. i also make some maps for serious sam. here is a link to my serious sam second encounter map -

ive just started with the hammer editor as i said earlier and have a few questions:

1. to make a good map or addon etc do you have to know the code so you can make a mod and also know how to model and create custom voices?

2. is there a showcase thread tree anywhere on these forums for people to, well, showcase their maps?:angel:

i hope that my stay here will be enjoyable and that i learn much about the hammer editor in the meantime.

1. You don't need all that to just make a map, but I think you do to make an actual mod. 2. Probably.

You should really ask in the modding forums for this kind of stuff. Or ask Angry Lawyer.

1) You can use custom voices and textures easily and you can use the HL2 models as they are usually good enough for any map. If not get someone to make you models or learn yourself but it is not necessairy.

2) You can post them in the mapping section of the site but they have yet to add in a WIP forum even though everyone wants one! :frown:
