I'm one of those people that will live on bologna and cereal for weeks just to get the latest stuff.. I got a PSP the day it came out.. I just bought a Nokia 7610 ($450). I tend to spend far too much, but it's somethin I gotta do.

So yes, I will most definately purchase one if it's under $500.

My last good mobile phone (Nokia 6600 - handset only - bought about May 2004) cost me £300.

What would be more accurate, then, would be "the cost of a decent graphics card". Or, even better... "the cost of over £250".
