Well since most of the country are scared of the gail force winds, it was very awful in my area. I wonder what it was like down south.
Anyway, we had lots of powercuts. Most of the school relys on power (lifts, automatic doors, tills at lunch, vending machines) and of course, all this failed.
I was doing P.E in a hall with no windows what-so-ever. When the lights went out, it was pitch black.
A tree came down on the road I have to go home, so that caused traffic queues. My bus simply turned around, and went through another village.
A girl who is disabled got stuck in the lift. Must have been for two hours or so. Poor her.

Anyone else had bad experiences today?

Yeah incredible winds here in Belgium too. A gigantic tree fell over the road in the forest. My friend made a picture of it, I'll see if I can get my hands on it :p

lol the winds were hurrendous here, trying to get across the one field to the bus stop was a nightmare lol, the college had to close early because of saftey issues with glass being broken etc

The wind was so severe in my part of the country (Cotswolds) that the tiles on the ceiling of our sixth form common room were shaking around and falling on people. INDOORS!

Absolute mayhem, although my school is an absolute shit hole. A blind monkey with AIDS could have done a better construction job.

The storm raped Sweden Sunday night, they say a new one will come on tonight. It rains like shit ATM.

The arial has blown off my roof, so the freeview TV in my room is no more.

That's all so far. Oh, and quite a large chunk of tree is lying across a main road near my house... causing some funny near-collisions.

Your in Cotswolds? Im in the Forest of Dean.

HAd a power cut at the shopping centre today (Merry Hill, some of you might know it). Was ace, all the alarms went off and it was just dark :D

Then went to my friends and watched some Lee Evans. Funny shit :D Ace day.

A guy got blown off his motorbike on our hill the other day and died. The road was closed for hours. Other than that we've been relatively unscathed in our area.

I'm kinda nervous about the wind. I'm in the middle of a 5 week crunch to get a game done and the last thing I want is a blackout! I need POWER!

A window practically EXPLODED in our sixth form room today. Was awesome.

I didn't actually witness any wind madness

:|

'net going down once or twice, roof partially torn off a nearby building or two, my inability to sleep (X_X)

It got down to 40 degrees here. People were freezing to death in the streets.

I ran out of chocolate

God did I ever LOL

Why are the winds so bad? Global warming?

Don't joke bout that shit mate, that hurts like a mother****er.

In Manji (southwa) winds have been known to blow riders off roads and into the path of oncoming traffic. And when ridin on a major truckin route that can kinda get a little scary :'(

...besides, global warming is a good target to pin all our problems on

We get -10 C here, and nobody's freezing to death....... Weird..

Anyway, the weather vane outside fell apart today, does that count?

and everyone blames this sort of stuff on global warming, getting sick of hearing it lol
I specifically blamed it on global warming because I knew it would tick someone off :P

WoW. From the look of things, it sounds like the weather is raping all of europe. Well, it's not as if the weather here in the States isn't messed up either. I'd had a relatively warm winter. No snow here at all, but mother****ing texas is covered in it? Wtf?!

I blame the french on the weather. That black hole/big bang thing they're building... that's what's causing all of this crazy weather.

I thought we'd never get any snow this year. We had like 10C+ on Christmas and New Years. But I got surprised when i walked out the door last night, I walked straight into a blizzard. I didn't look out the window before going out either because I took for granted that it was around 5C+ :) Big ass winds and loads of snow, same thing today. I just looked out and theres white stuff all over the place. I live on the 12:th floor so I got a really nice view of it... and it does look nice.

Ahh, the winds. That was entertaining. Two trees along the road fell down, and whilst we were sitting in traffic, we saw a flying bin come gliding towards us - hit the bumper instead of the windscreen, fortunately.
I also got blown across the Tesco car park, and our company sign fell down.
