Ok, tonight I was enjoying playing GTA4 online, I decided to do a team deathmatch on ranked. The specs were these - 3 teams, team DM, Colony island, medium of everything.
When we joined it showed there was only 2 of my teammates standing there, talking on the voice chat. I could clearly see them but by the sound of it they couldnt see me, neither could I see any of my other team mates or any enemies. The streets were bare, no cars, bikes, buses, civilians. I began jumping infront of the 2 guys who were just walking around thinking 'WTF!!, then suddenly, out of nowhere a car appeared in the middle of the street and one of the players had appeared inside the drivers seat. I tried to get in the other side but everytime I pressed Y the car's rear end would skid and prevent me from walking to either side of the car. The other guy got in the car and the vehicle sat still. Suddenly a massive cloud of tire smoke appeared as the car sped off down the road at around 900Mph (I'm not joking). The car kept spazzing around the road. Then I looked at the player list, all 16 were apparently in the match. No other players but myself and the two in the car were on the radar and the map was simply bare from anything and everything. The car continued skidding and launching itself down the roads before it flew through the air and landed on the bridge heading off the island, I followed them, noticing that the streets were completely empty. By this time everyone was leaving and I walked through the streets after the 2 in the car. I panned up and looked into the sky where I noticed the car glitching and spinning towards me, about 10-20 foot in the air. The car then crashed at the side of the road and appeared on the road. Then as everyone fled the game, I left thinking 'What the shit was that....'
Connections seemed fine as movement was fluent and voice chat was perfect, it was just spazzy when they got inside the car.
So, have you had any really weird multiplayer games in GTA4?
