What is the most important piece of hardware that will be used to play HL2?

I say the mouse. I just ordered the Boomslang 1000. I got it for 30 bucks from pricewatch.com. I would suggest any game who is really serious to go out and get one, or the Boomslang 2000. It kicks an amazing amount of ass!

I love that you call my mouse a piece of shit. If you even took the time to look at the technical specs of the mouse, or any of the reviews, you would see that it blows away almost every optical mouse out there.

I have Boomslang 2100 and i have to say, that it's the best mouse i've ever tried. I have had MS intellimouse ( 2nd best imo ), Logitech Cordless Mouseman Optical, Logitech Optical Wheel mouse, Some weird german optical mouse and some 3-button mice. I've also tried MX300 and MX500 for couple of days.

It's what you like tho, but imo boomslang had the best accuracy and it was the smoothest mouse compared others

Actually theres a program called ps2 rate you can download that increases your dpi if thats all you care about. Personally I like optical mice since I got tired of cleaning out all the lint from the wheels.

I voted graphics card cause i'm upgrading especially for the game, so according to the money i spent on the parts in the poll, it'll be graphics card. mouse comes in second, not that it's s expensive but i bought everglide optical mousemat especially for gaming, it's quite good in combination with my intellimouse explorer. i like perfect mouse-control in games, and together with smooth fps, it provides the best gaming experience in fps games.

keyboard isnt the most important... and mouse LOL ...

I can play fps games without a keyboard.... like binding mouse3 = forward

mouse4 jump etc..

Vice versa with the mouse/keyboard

binding keypad8 view UP ... Keypad2 view down keypad4 rotate left etc... Yeah that suck.. but it's still better than playing in software mode in 640x480 with a SOLID 8.5fps

That's why i voted for Graphic card

Try to play UT2k3 with hmm.. Pentium 1Ghz without a graphic card... but with the best created mouse ever....

About that cleaning the mouse all the time: I have a speedpad,which is a mousepad designed just for Boomslang 2100. I know that it can be annonying to clean your mouse allthe time, but what i've been using this mouse it doesnt get so dirty.
