WOOOOOOT!!!

"Having said that, we have a MAJOR announcement to make and we are making it exclusively to our long time C&C fans. This announcement is not going out to the press and it won't appear on the EA website or anywhere else online. We are very proud to announce that the team that brought you Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, Command & Conquer" Yuri's Revenge, and Command & Conquer: Generals has officially started work on our next project set in the Red Alert universe!"

Whoa.....

I think I may need clean underware......

I love this series. I have followed it ever since their 1st game.

OMG! YAYNESS

can;t wait :D

does the pic work for any1? :(

yeah recycled games GREAT.......
the game indrustry needs new Ideas

Oh...My...God. I think 2005 will be the year of sequels to classics. We have AoE 3, C&C 3, Unreal 3, Fallout 3, etc. This is great news. I hope that they can match the graphics and game quality AoE 3 promises to be. Oh, and I don't think it will be like Generals (Which I loved. and still play to this day). It will be set in the Red Alert universe, so 'nuff said. :P

i thought we already discussed the next c & c game being announcded, and, these pictures have been around for quite a long time, i guess it suddenly becomes 'new' when a large website notices it.

Videogames are perhaps the only form of media in which sequels regularly are BETTER than the originals.
Would you really not want to see a sequel to one of your favorite games? (Whether C&C or not). If you look around, there's been plenty of new ideas recently. And who knows what they're thinking to do wth this game, we don't even have an official screenshot yet.

C'mon guys, its EA... do you really think they wont duff this title up? I just dont trust them.

HOLY SHIT !!
WHERE IS THE PIC
I want to see it :(

I was a big fan of the CnC series but I won't be buying this, if it was Westwood then hell yeah I'd be excited.....unfortunatly EA bought them and destroyed their great franchise.

Generals wasnt bad. Zero hour on the other hand was horrible.

Ill buy it for sure.

"the team that brought you Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, Command & Conquer" Yuri's Revenge, and Command & Conquer: Generals"

I don't know who makes up that team but what matters is the people who design the game, not the company they work for.

Hello? This is from June last year. The original news post was actually a fake. The picture that was released with it was a concept shot from when they were doing preliminary work on C&C 3 (prior to the closure of Westwood)

However, since then, EA have announced that they're working on Red Alert 3. No screenshots have been released.

:( yeh...hes right its from Tuesday, June 22, 2004

Well they do need to make it more "command and conquerish" then Generals. I did enjoy generals, but I still like the originals much better then Generals.

I"ll look into it closer when it is about to be released.

I'll second this. All that art was concept sketches done for the next C&C game that got canned. Everyone became very sad, but EA then announced that the C&C franchise isn't dead and that they will be reviving Red Alert for certain, and presumably the Tiberian series at some point.

C&C is dead IMO, don't care about it anymore.

Correct. I remember reading about a Red Alert 3 but never thought it was confirmed. When i read that news post from Monday, December 06, 2004. It confirmed a new Red Alert game so i thought id post about it. "officially started work on our next project set in the Red Alert universe!"

Woot! C&C series is my joint favourite RTS games of all time (along side Warcraft). C&C was the very first PC i bought when it first came out way back in its day...i'll never forget this series or hate it even if EA has rights to it now.

You know...an EA logo doesn't mean its a bad game. Dozens of good, and great games have come out under that moniker. I'm going to go hug my copy of Burnout 3 now.

EA has just released the 3rd patch for generals today, when did that game come out? No, just because a game has an EA logo it may not suck, but it will not be fixed if it does. This is all a matter of opinion and in my opinion I have wasted enough money on thier games and do not wish to waste more. Red alert 2 was an ok game but the original was much better.

Yes RA was MUCH better then RA2.

Regardless of tha..it came out either Q4 of 2002, or like Jan or Feb of 2003. I can't quite remember.

the Conceptart from the C&C den is from craig mullins and was meant for war of the worlds

Actually, the War of the Worlds thing never seems to have been more of a rumor. Certainly the first pic in the three was for C&C since it originally carried the logo.

I remember getting that e-mail ages ago...

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying one of the best years ever for PC gaming.

On the eve of one of our own major releases, The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™, the one thing we've grown to understand is how important the community - our most loyal supporters - is for industry. This started back in our days at Westwood where the community for our games has always been a big priority. We understand that you are the most important and influential group for us and we are constantly amazed at the amount of talent used to create quality assets and mods.

Having said that, we have a MAJOR announcement to make and we are making it exclusively to our long time C&C fans. This announcement is not going out to the press and it won't appear on the EA website or anywhere else online. We are very proud to announce that the team that brought you Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 2™, Command & Conquer™ Yuri's Revenge™, and Command & Conquer™ Generals has officially started work on our next project set in the Red Alert universe!

As I mentioned, we're very proud to ship what we feel is one of the best RTS games ever released. Most of you have probably heard of The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™ which hits stores this week. We've introduced some really innovative features and gameplay mechanics, which you should definitely check out when you get a chance. You will also see a major enhancement to the Sage graphics engine we originally created for Command & Conquer Generals. Expect us to leverage and continue to evolve this powerful engine as we start work on our new Command & Conquer game.

Thanks again for all your support over the years. This entire team is incredibly excited to work on the next Command & Conquer chapter. Look for an official announcement soon and have a wonderful holiday.

Wish there were some screenshots.

I'm not so bothered that it's EA. I know, we all hate the sims, etc, and the bad logo "Challenge Everything" but I liked Generals and Red Alert 2.
Much better than Tiberian Sun (which I think was Westwood under Virgin Games).
I am nostalgic for RA and C&C, but RA2 and Generals are a clear evolution from them.

Also, a bit off topic - did anyone see any previews for the game "Act of War"? It looks a bit like Generals.

EDIT: You've got a bit of a short memory, Raziel-Jcd, you've got 3rd post on that old thread :p

I just want CNC3 Tiberian Twilight or whatnot.

Still, it's great to have some classic RTS's rather than all these new ones ith enough options to burry a small country.

A C&C3 Tiberian Twilight would rock but so would a C&C Red Alert 3. Whatever they make, ill be buying.

As long as they bring back the cheesy FMV sequences that made the games so memorible. They kicked ass.
