Would be cool to play through a game as a cyborg ninja as long as it maintained the stealth aspects ... however not Raiden. Way too much stupidity there, and the fact that they turned his character into a series of homoerotic "funny" moments in MGS4 doesn't exactly make it easy to take him seriously.

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a MGS4 re-release with extra content, maybe with a heavy focus on Raiden. I'd be cool with that.

Not that I have much love for Raiden, but MGS2's choice of main character wouldn't have been so bad if you weren't lured into thinking you'd be playing as Snake most of the time. Instead you're unexpectedly stuck with Raiden for the latter 90% of the game and it's... well, it's rude.

It's funny because Kojima was basically intentionally giving the finger to the western world in doing that. I love him for it.

Raiden became sort of cool anyways, I wouldn't mind playing as him and slicing up some d00ds with a sword.

Problem is that they've yet to make the in-game sword stuff as cool as the cutscene stuff.

Unless they can make it so the gameplay somewhat matches the cutscenes, **** all this ninja main character shit.

I know it was his intention. But it was a poor decision and one of the many things that made me grow tired of Kojima's stupid subtexts and "Gosh I'm clever" moments.

I'll admit mgs2 (and I guess 4, although I've never played it) have way too many cinematics, but thats 2 out of 7 games. I'm assuming, Of course, you're not counting the metal gear 1&2, acid 1&2, ghost babel and portable ops, which are all less story driven than mgs 1-4(although I haven't played acid so I'm not sure there). At the end of the day the MGS storyline is ****in retarded and makes no sense, the script is often akward/corny..etc. but to say the series has no gameplay is just...weird..it practically invented the modern day stealth genre, how can you say it has no gameplay? If you hate MGS, fair enough I get it, I'm not butt hurt over you not agreeing with me I've just never heard anyone say something along those lines.

The truth is, I absolutely love Metal Gear. Playing the originals on Nintendo, spending hundreds of hours playing the Metal Gear Solid demo that came on the Playstation magazine disc, preordering MGS1 so I could get the special soundtrack. I even bought the McFarlane action figures. My first e-mail account was liquidsnake_55.

Staying up without sleep to finish Sons of Liberty and trying not to fall asleep through the ending scenes. I even didn't mind playing Raiden. I thought he was an OK guy even back then.

I cannot tell you how many times I've listened to the Snake Eater theme.

When MGS4 came out, I sat in a webcam channel with other people watching some guy play the game while we all cheered him on. I was at work when he beat the game (I hadn't yet got it myself) and cried openly at Snake's death. I stood and saluted at my computer, and I told my coworkers to shut the hell up and salute because Snake lived a hard life.

I was just trying to be a troll. Everybody jokes around that Metal Gear Solid is just one big cutscene with no gameplay, and I was just trying to be a big jerk. But instead of making everyone rage, your well-thought out post has shamed me and I admit to my sad attempt at trolling this thread.

Big Boss is also alive and he is the one who tells you how much time you have to live, and give up on being Solid Snake and just live as a man. And then he dies right there at the Boss's grave.
