I didn't find any topic for this, please punish me if there is one.

I ask you, which class do you want to get the next updates? So far medic, pyro, heavy and scout have got ones.

You can also post some suggestions about the new gear.
 
I picked spy cuz I think his will be interesting to see what they do with it. I'm curious about all of them tho. Engineer will be good to see too. I'm hoping they give him a new building instead of just another tier of turret or something.
 
If the engineer recieved a pair of robotic wallace and gromit trousers for walking up walls, I would be content with dying at that exact moment, knowing I would never be more happy.
 
I don't know, but this isn't about what Valve is going to choose. The poll is about your opinion/which you want to be the next.

I picked the sniper, my favorite class. The other classes are boring, well, not demoman, that should get 'em soon too.
Sniper should have a helmet replacing the machine gun or the sword. That made him immune to one headshot, would make sniper vs. sniper battles easier. :p
 
Sniper. You can only have so much fun with a Sniper Rifle :p
 
Apparently they did find the foreign versions of the Sniper sound files for 'My new weapon' etc a while back. I thought the Sniper would be instead of the scout update so it might be next. I voted Sniper for that reason.
 
I know that the poll is based on who I would want next but let's take a look at the previously chosen classes.

All the classes so far have been the least played or most desperately in need of some changes to their core gameplay in order to add depth or versatility. For example, the Sandvich to help lone heavies, Bonk to help scouts bypass sentries, Blutsauger to increase the survivability of medics, Airblast to reduce the soldier's dominance over pyros, etc. This leads us to the Spy.

The Spy is currently the least played and the most desperately in need of some change to their core gameplay in order to broaden it's appeal to other players. At the moment, he's a class that is a challenge to play for even the best of players and there are so many nuances with the class that a lot of players simply cannot be bothered to invest time in it when there are other classes that are much easier to come to grasps with.
 
Didn't some one figure out an ovious pattern that the first four updates stuck to a while back? I think it was somehow based off of the class selection screen.

Yeah i may be wrong but i believe that was working for like 2 classes and then it screwed up.
 
I think it came up around the Heavy update, and atleast was correct for that one. It might be disproved with the Scout update though.

Edit: That's definitely not it Viperidae. I think the person posting it here thought of it themself, and it was definitely less silly.
 
Hmm, maybe I should be reading this forum more often.

I'd like to see the Sniper get it most. While definitely not underused or underpowered, the class just gets... boring. There's only so much gameplay you can get as a sniper. They need to spice him up a bit.

And they better not bloody touch my spy for at least another 6 months. Enough with the spy changes already.

It was based on Defensive/Offensive/Support, iirc.
 
As the class most dependant upon the abilities/habits/gameplay of the other classes I think the Spy should be left to last so his new toys can be properly balanced with what is in the game.

My preferred update order is:
  1. Soldier
  2. Eng/Demo (double update)
  3. Sniper/Spy (double update)
 
I can wait for the Spy update, but I really do want it to be a disguised update.
 
I don't know. I have the sixth sense knowing that demo will be the next.
 
The funny thing about these 5 options is it's going to be an incredible blast to play Spy during all of them. Although Demo would probably be more fun playing as Scout.

Well, if it's based on the class selection screen, then I would guess spy would be next. That would make the updated classes alternate.



But I doubt this is what they are basing it on.
 
Let's see. From memory...

Medic, Pyro, Heavy, Scout...

So... Support, Offensive, Defensive, Offensive.

So that theory is probably nixed.
 
But you see, when the theory was brought up, I could've sworn I remember it being used to predict Scout as the next one.
 
If we're going right to left, and skipping one class, Sniper is next.

Also, isn't there going to be a 10th class?
 
Valve's mentioned they're interested in possibly making a tenth class at some point. Not something I'd get my hopes up for though.

Spy got the ammo-cloak update, changable weapons, and the backstab mechanic has been changed several times.
Demo's got... a bunch of nerfs.
Soldier had his rocket supply lowered and raised.
Sniper has nothing.

So I'm thinking either Sniper or Demo.
 
The right to left skipping thing is actually pretty obvious now that I look at it. And honestly, the sniper update will probably be the most fun of any of them. Just glorious scouting and spying.
Actually, I just remembered that Pyro came before Heavy, so the right to left thing is bogus...

Those were all balance tweaks and are doubtful to really affect Valve's choosing of the class. But I think I'm hoping for Sniper most after Spy.

Sniper has had a single change. The sniper rifle can get crit buffs (such as kritzkrieg or First Blood)
 
The Spy, Engie, and Sniper are all alike as their jobs get harder as people get better. I'm not looking forward to a sniper update since it takes a very steady hand to get kills, which is something i don't have (Sniper just isn't my thing). I have to say spy, disguises are just about useless now since everyone knows at this point, he needs some help since if a spy is uncovered, he becomes public enemy # 1 and no one will stop till hes dead. (im not joking, a spy gets uncovered in the middle of a huge fight, all guns are turned to him)
 
Well, spy might be the most dangerous one in a huge fight, since he can 1-shot people from back. Or maybe not.
