Yeah, tell me about it. Ottawa owning the Maple Leafs 8-0, and the Sabres 10-4.

I don't really have a favourite team, but since Selanne is playing for Anaheim again, I'm supporting them. Colorado is cool too

GO LEAFS! Even though they probably aren't going to be getting very far. Like usual. :(

Anyway I have to say I don't like some of these new rules too much. Teams can barely play defence now which really sucks.

laugh all you want but im a pens fan. always have been always will be(unless they sell the team)

i know what you mean mullinator, but if you think about it defence used to be more with the stick than the body in the old days.

i gotta admit, so far the games have been much more entertaining than the last few years.
i suppose actually enforcing the existing rules plus making a few minor tweaks helps quite a bit :)

Ok, if Ottawa doesn't make it to the Stanley Cup Finals this year, Ottawa fans are going to go berzerk. :P

As a Leafs fan I've seen all the ups and downs of this new NHL. I'm liking many things (I've even gotten used to the shootout), I just wish there was a way that the defensive game could be improved. It can be really frustrating to see a defenseman make a great play that would have been fine in the old NHL, only to get called for it (i.e. lifting the player's stick  ). Early on in the season, special teams would dictate the final score of the game. Fortunately the refs are letting up a bit, and games are no longer a 60 minute powerplay show. :)

the thing with the defensive part of the game is, as soon as the refs show a little leanency, the players try to take advantage of that...and so the refs are forced to continue calling the tight games.

i have noticed subtle clutching and grabbing going on in the past two weeks :|
i hope this stops or else we will revert back to what we had for the past 10 years by the end of December :(

Never trust an NHL team that was created from a movie....they only win in the movies.

Wtf O.o
Us non-Americans are so confused by this all :(

What? It's not allowed to lift other player's stick anymore? I don't know all about these new rules

F*ck the NHL!
They pissed me off with that all-season boycott last year, so I am done watching it ever again, besides, there's no more hardcore players like in the old days.

Good point. I live in Edmonton..as you probably know, the Edmonton Oilers are sort of a legend around here in Edmonton. They were playing bad for about a week or so, now they've won 4 games in a row and beat detroit :D! But the defense problem is horrid. I've also liked every game I saw so far because it's more balanced and more fun to watch. The one major problem with Edmonton, is that they pass the puck, WAY to much. It's like they want to make a fantastic play to impress everyone..only to get bit in the ass and force a turnover. But I'm enjoying the season..good fun!

I swear Edmonton is the most magical team ever. I wish I had been older in the 80's so I could've witnessed their dynasty. They totally owned the 80's, and so many legends were born during that period. Jari Kurri, Mark Messier, Grant Fuhr, just to name a few.

And yeah, they also had that one guy named Wayne Gretzky.
