A park. Tuesday. A young, blonde man in his early 20s is sitting on a bench. He is wearing green pants. But you couldn't tell that they were green because of all the different paint stains. He was a construction worker. Of course, he didn't want to work at the construction site forever, he had bigger, better plans.
Next to him sat his co-worker. Much older. He, too, was wearing dirty work clothes. He had dark brown hair, a 5 o'clock shade and a huge nose. He didn't have any other plans, this was the best job he could land and he knew it.
They were both having a lunch as usual. Yes, this was their lunch spot. Every work day, they came here and ate. The older man, let's call him Jim, had taken the younger one, Doug for example, under his wing. But none of this was out of the ordinary.
A young woman passed them.
'She reminds me a lot of this girl I used to see. Cherry. Have I ever told you about her?'
'I have heard of many of your 'conquests', but I don't remember a Cherry...'
'Yeah, the one that got away...'
'Is being with you truly such a punishment?'
'What do you mean?'
'"The one that got away"? Sounds like something a prison guard would say. Or a guard at an insane asylum.'
'You are way too smart for your age, you know that?' said Jim and got up. 'Come on, we have to get back to the site, boy...'
Doug later fell to his death. Just so you know...
