[br]The Passing, the first DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 is now available for both Xbox 360 and PC.[br]"The Passing" features 3 new maps, new weekly game modes (Mutations), a new "uncommon common" zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), firearm (M-60), support for infected bot play in Versus, 10 new achievements and more![br]Go find out who passes on and post your thoughts. L4D2 blog.

I don't think you used the term properly, either way.

I think I'll play this while trying to set up my controller so I can splitscreen with the girlfriend when she stays over.

I've tried before, but the damn controller keeps controlling the same player as the mouse and keyboard. I've followed the thread on SPUF to a T, but it's being stupid. Grr.

Finished it earlier with a few people. Seemed just as boring as Crash Course.

At current download speeds, it won't be ready for me to play until midway through Saturday.

And so the wait begins again.

When I am finally able to find a lobby leader that isn't afk can't connect to any dedicated servers so we play on a local and every time the game gets disconnected. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow when things hopefully cool down.

I just started downloading it, and I can already tell it's going to take a while. Not that I didn't anticipate this, however.

I liked it. It used the best parts of L4D and L4D 2 and put it into "The Passing". Spoiler on who dies and what happens to the L4D characters:
Bill died! ;( He runs super fast with a med pack on him and doesn't act like a normal Infected. Also the L4D survivors are staying on a bridge to be eaten and Louis is hurt. Also I liked the possibility of Rochelle and Francis together but also Ellis and Zoey. Too bad Rochelle had to make a jerk comment saying that Ellis freaked her out by his usual weird attitude.

The character interaction was fun I thought. The campaign itself felt quite tame, nothing stood out massively. The wading tunnel crescendo event was memorable and creepy wedding witch was a nice touch.

Otherwise it felt quite similar to crash course in that it wasn't groundbreaking. Golf club feels like the katana (probably the same code), I didn't find a m60!

Mutations will be more interesting hopefully. A tad underwhelmed for the moment.

The M60 is like sniper bullets in a machine gun. It has a really short ammo supply though and it's ammo is like the chainsaw. There was a part with hedges that suspiciously felt like "The Parish" campaign only at night. You don't get much interaction though with the L4D characters. ;( Also if you have pills give them to Louis right before entering the car. It's an easter egg to the whole PILLZ here thing.

What does mutation mean?

I know what it means, I meant more like what it does.

Oh that's pretty cool. You'll need an effin good survivor team to make it in versus.

That wasn't Bill. It's a fallen survivor. Bill is dead from the beginning. You can find him next to the generator at the finale.

Guess I have to double post, I broked the forum :p

The fallen survivor is the uncommon common for The Passing, Hool. I saw 3 or 4 of them throughout.

I enjoyed it. Was playing with bots though, so the experience could have been better.

I liked the campaign... But the L4D2 characters interacting with the L4D characters was kinda poor... Specially because in my game L4D1 guys say nothing! I had to watch on You Tube to see what kind of talk they have.

The campaign certainly displays a lot of culture, like clubs and weddings. I liked it.

I like it... but I agree that there's hardly any interaction with the L4D crew. Some nice stuff in it and the sewer thing is rough. Really they just added a lot of long hallway-like structures you fight through.

I wonder what the L4D guys do after you leave?

Have group sex.

Listen their end dialogue. They talk about a mall.

Played a part of it (I believe it was the second part) just now. Good stuff.

fun and free, it was worth the download. will probably play it again on a harder setting

P.S. the catwalk/sewer segment was scary

The survivor meet-up was a little overhyped, and it doesn't really get any interesting until the finale, but I can't complain. The campaign itself was an underwhelming but welcome addition.

Pretty fun for the most part, finale was kind of meh for me (TWO TANKS)(!!!!!). Things to note:
1) Dead Rising reference
2) Still Alive on jukebox
3) Funny and good dialogue, though as usual it only occurs when absolutely nothing is happening (IE saferooms)

Have group sex.

Listen their end dialogue. They talk about a mall.

There's a couple different versions of that conversation (and all the conversations). The one I heard was Zoey wondering if the groups should've joined forces.

Oh, I thought the dead Survivor was the running zombie. The thing ran so weird though. Once I caught it like slumped over and was walking up to it and it started running. The animation is completely bad though. It runs in a glitchy zig-zag line though really fast. I had just assumed that was the character but never saw the dead body of the fallen survivor. They kinda hid the person. :dozey:

Kinda meh. The atmosphere's good, but the survivor death was totally arbitrary and unnecessary. Plus, it kind of doesn't make sense in the storyline of L4D.

L4D DLC is supposed to explain how they get to where they are and (I think) how it happens.

...

Weren't we supposed to get a new coop mode? What's with that?

**** Eli!

I want Bill back! ;(

They haven't been able to contact Bill's voice actor since Crash Course, so I suppose it would be only natural that they find some manner in which to logically drop him from the series.
