THE ping optimizing Thread...

Can we have a thread that has all the ways to get the best ping possible? Like a simple list, ie;

To get the best ping do this:

1. cool trick to better your ping 1
2. cool trick to better your ping 2
etc...

1. Get cable/dsl.

3. cl_updaterate 101 (Lower this # if you are lagging)

turn off whatever other internet programs you are using. if you are lagging make sure its ping and not your framerate, otherwise but a new video card

my ping is coming in at 20-40, unless there is smoke, then below 20. I did all the fixes listed above and my ping went from 60 to 120!!!! I have superfast broadband too, alteast for where I am. I have an old nvidia gforce2...
