It's possible somebody set down the pliers right on top of the camera before the picture was taken. That's my best guess.

It's either an intentional joke by Google, an accident, or somebody else was pulling a prank.

But when you go to the 3d mode, it appears that the pliers are actually very far away, because you can't see any splitting of the red and blue images, like you can with other things close by. I'm not really sure about this though.
