Obviously, you pretty much know where you stand with regards to your political views, but this is just an interesting little quiz that puts you on a scale. Of course, it needn't mean anything at all, but it's still quite interesting.

Here's my result - filthy lefty that I am.

My political compass:
Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97

Right (or should I say left?) beside Ghandi, Mandella and the Dalai Lama.

I'm a happy leftist libertarian!

Heh, I'm the most conservative person yet.
But what I would really like to know is how does the answer to this question affect your rating?
That seemed a bit silly.
Fascist:)

Yeah that question was stupid. Also, it's a shame there isn't an "Indifferent" option. Meh.

I'm in good company... right between Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, and Nelson Mandela.

My Result here.

Im with Gandi :), it all ultimately stems on the battle between the subconcious, Inner mind, and materialistic outer mind. in my opinion. Society is the reflection of the conflict within ourselves ,along with the fact that we know shite about our universe :P.

if we could learn to evolve to keep our minds in check subconciously, with positive thoughts of equality, instead of the lower brain function's impulses, such as lust, which then stems greed and other self surviving neandertholic emotional responses. ,, it would then reflect outward into society with positive results.

I got on about the same spot as Gandi, close to Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela. :)

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.62

I'm near Gandhi as well:

My rating

Seems like most people will be, it's not unexpected after all we are mostly young people with open minds, I mean most of us are in the same demographic group ;)

It's supposed to mean that you probably agree with most of us on the ideal level of economic involvement of the government (x-axis), but you want the government to have a little more control over social issues (y-axis). If you're in the top-left corner you want them to have total control. If you're in the bottom-right corner you want the gov't to be as weak as possible.

Wow....I'm really close to the middle.

My Results

Economic Left/Right: -1.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.67

Edit:I just noticed that I'm in a league of my own!

You've got Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Yassir Arafat, and their friends to keep you company...

:hmph:

I'm not as conservative as I thought I was - I'm more libertarian:

Economic Left/Right: 2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.36

But I'm still more conservative than you pinko lefties on this board :naughty:

so if the vast majority of us are all Socialist, Libratarian /Authoritarian in some cases. wtf, I repeat , wtf are we doing putting up with these capitalist right winged noobs, ruling the world  .

well, communist is just the leftmost extreme and such, the labels are just what you get closer towards as you go that direction. democrats and republicans are very close on the political spectrums in reality, basicallly opposite sides of the center.

however, all of you people who got -7 and such scare me.
