The real terrorists in the middle east?

There's terrorism on both sides... it's not just one side or another. And you'd be stupid to think so.

but don't you dare attempt to say that I am claiming israel as the only "terrorist"

The article is claiming the 'real terrorists'... as if the other group are not terrorists themselves.

the article asks, who are the real terrorists, you don't think that living under the constant fear of an israeli air strike is any less terrorism, than a katyusha rocket attack?

Hezbolah started this war, and I agree, there ARE innocent civilians being killed. But that is unavoidable, its war. The problem with that is that the Hezbolah are hiding the weapons and themselves IN the homes of innocent families. What is Israel supposed to do? Sit back and LET their people be bombed by terrorists? And as far as negotiations go..there isn't anything to talk about. The Hezbolah believe in a religion bent on the total destruction of Irael. You can't negotiate with that. No matter what the Hezbolah, Syria, of Iran get, they are STILL going to want to kill the people of Israel, and why can't some people understand that?? If they eliminate those goverments, SET on terrorism, when all is done and the dust blows over, the world will be better, their will still be terrorism, but much less severe.

oh let me guess.. ISRAEL!!!

what do i win?

i guess that makes the american military a terrorist organization what with the war in iraq

What everyone seems to have forgotton these days is that terrorism is defined by tactics and stratergy, not goals. Personally I'd say there are terrorist elements in every side involved in the current Isreal-Hezbolah conflict...

Good point, but that kindof generalizes terrorism a bit...please be a little more spacific. I mean, the Israel's military doesn't do suicide bombings, or saw people's heads off.

EDIT* And innervision, lol looking back into what i typed it does sound a little severe. That isnt the point of Islam, but have you listened to the president of Iran's speeches? They(who are providing for hezbolah) want "Israel wiped off the face of the globe" lol yes, I should have worded that differently... I mean that there is no way of negotiating peace with that. It's one of their goals.

Forgetting the "religion" part:

Hezbollah supports the destruction of the state of Israeland has co-operated with other militant Islamic organizations such as Hamas in order to promote this goal.

source

It is kind of awkward that these terrorist organisations always refer to religion when they target Israel. Hezbollah is "the party of god" and they always refer to Israel as the "zionist state" (instead of Israel. To put this into perspective, imagine calling the USA the "Christian state" constantly) while a large percentage is Israeli Muslim and a certain percentage Christian.
They're not alone in the way they "adress israel", isnt it funny these organisations always refer to "enemies of Islam" and "offensive to Islam".
Even the "Martyrdom" reference indicates these organisations do their best to elevate this to a religious matter, when its really a matter of territory.

Eh, theres a difference between open war, and Terrorism.

Open war, each party usually targets what it believes to be Militarily related sites etc..while terrorist are going to target civilians..hopeing the civilians will cave into fear of being bombed at work..walking down the street..maybe while they're at starbucks.

It comes down to, who is targeting civilians, and who is targeting Military sites(or what they belive to be.) It's a sad fact of war that civilians die...it's pretty much unavoidable. You can try to minimize it..but it's going to hapen.

EDIT-I'm not referring specifically to the conflict in Lebanon atm..just in general.

Excellent way to put it, I agree.

I didn't know what to expect, but I saw you linked to The Independant... When I see that, I know that you're trying to push an agenda.

that was blatantly obvious from the get-go.

You need more proof? "Everyone is Southern Lebanon is now a target"... To bad they destroyed most roadways and bridges out, maybe then the civillians would have a chance.

Oh and how about this!

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/30/mideast.main/index.html

TYRE, Lebanon (CNN) -- An Israeli airstrike hit a four-story residential building used as a shelter by Lebanese refugees in the southern Lebanese town of Qana Sunday morning, killing and wounding more than 65 people, a Lebanese emergency official said.

Israel on Saturday rejected a call for a three-day cease-fire proposed Friday by U.N. Emergency Relief Coordinator Jan Egeland "so that we can evacuate wounded, evacuate children, evacuate the elderly and the disabled from the crossfire in Lebanon."

There it is, plain and simple. There are two terrorsts fighting, and only civillians are dying. If you support Israel, or if you support Hezbollah you are an imbecile. This needs to stop, why does anyone pick sides in this?

Er.. What was WWII regarded as then? (i.e. carpet bombing of whole cities by the dozen) Surely its not terrorism?

I mean, civilians at work were most definitely killed (not just in factories aiding the war effort either) deliberately. Sure, there weren't any starbucks.. but maybe a Hitlerbucks or McChurchill?

That was a technological limitation.

Hitlerbucks ftw <3

Well, there are a number of different pronounciations of it. Hezbolla, I think, is the American version of it. Hizballah is what the Arabic name transliterates to when written in the Latin alphabet, at least it's more close to the actual pronounciation of it. So it's more accurate. It also underscores the nature of their name - Hizb Allah, the party of God, or Allah.

I stopped reading when it said "my home town" because I just knew it'd be completely biased and anti-Israeli.
