"... can make all the difference in the world"

- G-Man

What do you think this statement from the full E3 video means?

I'm now of the firm belief that the G-Man is from the future and is strategically placing Gordon at certain times in his future's "history" in order to gain some sort of supremacy. Be it for evil, be it for the greater good; we'll have to find out.

The G-Man is such a great character, he's right up there with Palpatine from the Star Wars movie saga. He's got an ultimate plan that spans over more than one episode or part, and he plays most of it in the background.

Honestly I think It just refers to the fact that in HL1 he was the right man (He was the only guy able to defeat Nihlath(Excuse the spelling)) and in the wrong place.. well Black Mesa wasnt the best place to be at the time of the Resienese Cascade was it? :p

and likewise him being in City 17 could make all the difference between freedom and occupation? Just as guess ofcourse :)

maybe G-man dont hav pay much attention on gordon in the "test" in black mesa, and maybe just look that gordon hav something especial and is usin him now

right man: gordon, a great scientist?
wrong place: uncouncsously(sp?) serving the g-man .. the unfamouse experiment .. etc

I think it MAY indicate that the G-Man is working all the different sides against each other for his own goals. Or, more specifically, he brought Gordon into City 17 to hinder someone elses plans.

BUT...whos plans? The Xen aliens? The Combine? The resistance? OR...maybe even the Administrator...

While he was saying "The right man, in the wrong place", there was a bunch of machinery moving around in the backround, and it looked something like some concept art of the citadel insides. Maybe the Gman was speaking about the right man (gordon) in the wrong place (the citadel) and that maybe gordon will have to destroy the citadel somehow

My theory is G-Man = Future Gordon from one of many possible timelines, This Gordan is controlling Freeman to make sure his timeline prevails.

I think hes referring to the black mesa incident.

Gordon - Right Man
Inside the antimass spectrometer chamber when a resonance cascade is about to take place - DEFINATELY the Wrong Place

I think he means someones plans were messed up by gordon being in the test chamber that day, but whether he means his plans or the aliens plans im unsure... Very mysterious.

"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world"

I'm sticking with the idea Gman is from the future at the moment

Is he refering to the changes in the timeline, maybe Gordons presence in City17 is slowing or halting the next phase in the combine's/aliens plan to dominate Earth. Gman sent him to City17 for that very reason.

Gman is Gordon from the future, thats the reason for the speech impediment (Gordon was knocked over the head with his own crowbar several times)

If Gordon wasn't hired at Black Mesa as a research scientist, he might of had another persuit (i.e. being a government man instead, whilst somebody else slotted the crystal in the machine)

Im guessing that "The Right man in the wrong place can make all the diffrence" meaning that.. Gordon is the right man, but was in the wrong(or bad) Place when all of it happened. Then all the diffrence meaning because he was in the wrong place yet because he was it makes a huge diffrence if he was by some damn huge computer that could have fell over and killed him. Or hes talking about Gordons future here. That gordon will end up in the wrong place\side... That he will be somewhere, the something huge will happen and he could have stopped it, he was just in the wrong place at the time. Those are my 2 guesses.

The right man= Gordon

The Wrong time= Resonance Cascade in black mesa

behind the Gman, it showed THE FUGGING TEST CHAMBER!

god, you guys didnt remember that from Halflife 1?

:| Uh it says wrong PLACE, a location doesn't account for when... I think it just means that Gordon is the hero, right man in wrong place... wrong as in bad place and right as in good.

I think he's just referring both to the original game and to the coming misadventures. What else can you possibly read into that? Actually, don't answer that...

i think it i reffering to the fact that if it hadnt been gordon in the test chamber when it happened then it would have turned out differently....the aliens wouldhave spread but thanks to gordon the aliens were defeated.

i think now he is reffering to gordon bieng in City 17, i mean of all places to be, the place where security is tighter than other cities because of the presence of the citadel and dr. breen. but because gordon is there, things are going a different way and Breens plans whatever they may be are in serious jeapordy.
