Now that The Ship free weekend is over (well almost) - will you buy?

Personally, no I won't. I gave it a good go, won some games and got some fun out of it but its not worth my hard earned. It wasn't as strategic/tactical as I was hoping when I read about it (I pictured something in the vein of NOLF). Most of the game was navigating (find a good weapon, find a place to eat/sleep/crap/etc, find your target) on the ship at an excruciatingly slow walking pace.

But thats just me - what did everybody else think?

Well, the only reason I would buy it would be to play something different every once in a while. It's a good game and all but it feels awkward to play.

No, I will not buy it unfortunately. Didn't have enough appeal for me.

I bought it on release, and I think it was a good buy.

Played this free weekend and it was atrocious. For any borderline people, you should know that it is a much better game with less free-weekend trial newbies. Elimination (the best gametype for strategy) between genuinely skilled players is a blast.

I'm sure you all noticed the zounds of people running around with fireaxes? These are what we call newbs. You do not win, and in fact hurt yourself, by killing with a fireaxe. (Assuming somehow it is actually on the MFK list) I say you hurt yourself because if you are close enough to axe someone, you are close enough to use a weapon with some value. Good players only use the axe for self-defense, as it is generally a one hit kill and fast.

It's not really over (if you're serious), still what... 16 hours if they end on schedule.

You daft, it's 5 AM here, not going to install it now :p

I really think it could've had better graphics (and player models) than it did, also the choice of it being a ship was kinda WTFish; now an island, that I could go for...well probably not, still doesn't sound appealing to me, unless a game such greater caliber than I'm thinking could convince me otherwise.

Not really my kind of game. So no.

My cousin was the one who tried it...I didn't.

It looked pretty fun though.
Running around and sneaking up on people with fireaxes.

no.
they would've had more success as a mod if u ask me.
the simish game play elements just don't appeal to me.
