Because it's been progressively sucking since around Season 9?

Family guy is the new Simpsons.
I can honestly say i'm bored of the Simpsons now. Haven't watched an episode in a while.

Explains why they cancelled Family Guy a while back and not the Simpsons then. Murdoch relayed the message to the wrong people because he'd not been informed that actually, the Simpsons wasn't the Simpsons anymore, but Family Guy was the Simpsons! The mind boggles!

The same accident happened when he tried to previously cancel the Simpsons, unaware that in fact, Futurama had recently become the Simpsons. So, the Simpsons cancelled? Only if the Simpsons is in fact currently the Simpsons, and not something else.

Good, maybe they'll start making new Futurama episodes instead.

no it's not cancelled ..they have contracts till 2008

Hey, they can cancel The Simpsons and Family Guy if it means Futurama coming back.

Simpsons should've been cancelled back in '98.

Bring back Futuramaaaaa! D:

They're making three new Futurama DVDs...so thats a start.

Now if we can get the Rolling Stones to stop, all will be right with the world

They should be focusing more on Futurama anyway
Honestly, if they make any more Futurama seasons, I have a feeling they may go the same way as the Simpsons. The show ended on its fourth with a very high note (Leela showing interest in Fry), and I think it should be kept sacred like that. A couple of straight-to-DVD movies would work well, though.

The Stones? Honestly? They just put out a damn good album. I'd understand if they were just living on past accomplishments, but they're still great musicians.

Simpsons suck - Same stupid crap and same stupid comedy - NOT FUNNY

Family Guy - New episodes suck ass, they waste to much time with stuff that isn't funny, like when they prolong things to make them funnier, but they arent funny.

Futurama - One of the only good cartoons left.

I like the Simpsons. I first learned the depths of American culture through the series.

I think some people get the ideas mixed around why Simpsons have declined over the years. Writers and producers have changed since around Season 9 and thats the main reason why. The Characters have become way overdone to the extent where everything isn't funny anymore. I also think the animation has also changed the Simpson from the Cel Animation to Digital Animation, but thats just a personal opinion.

I really think they need to stop and cancel the show. Simpsons is still a great cartoon and will be remembered in cartoon history only because of its past, and they have literally spawned other certain cartoons.

Other than that. Shows like Family Guy should take over, I'm not specifically a fan of Family Guy and I haven't liked any episodes (maybe perhaps the willy wonka spoof episode) And I really want Futurama to come back with new episodes.

You are correct sir!

Except for the fact that Futurama was cancelled a long time ago so all we're seeing is reruns. I hate 90% of the new Family Guys. There have been like...4 total moments in the new seasond I've loved.

-Rock Lobster

-God: JESUS CHRIST
Jesus: What?
God: Grab the escalade! We're outta here!

-Archie comic bit in the first new ep
- ...umm...I can't remember

You forgot the chicken fight! The second chicken fight was genius.

I agree. Simspsons was funny for a long run, but then started to get progressively stupider and I stopped watching them. Family guy, all of it was awesome until the new episodes in 2005. Those were lame and unfunny.

Futurama... Pure classic, everything about it.

That was pretty unfunny to me. They just trying to play on the old funny of the first one, and it failed.

Hope it's true, as other people have said, they're almost ten years too late.

Exactly, people like Brad Bird left (The guy who wrote and directed The Incredibles).

I blame a lot of the Simpsons flaws now on the actors. I think that any comedic timing and delivery they used to have has completely vanished into simple non-effort.

Unfortunately I've not caught any of Family Guy past season three, but judging on the movie, I hope they don't exhaust any characters like Stewie.

The 2nd chicken fight was ok...but it's kinda an example of why I think the show has gone downhill. They reuse jokes and characters too much and they lose their entertainment value...at least to me. Evil monkey was great when he was a rare appearance and still new. In the first 3 seasons we saw him a total of 4 times. In the new seasons I'd be willing to bet we've already seen him 4+ times. I'm also tired of those 2 Portuguese guys. They were funny the first time they were on but they've used them to death in the new seasons. Same with the whole "gay animal" joke.

Like others have said they extend things to no end and they just aren't funny.

-Stewie's rant about Brian's book
-Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Ooh! Me! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Ooh! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton! Miss Clifton!....... NOT FUNNY but his reaction after he didn't get picked was awesome

-Woah woah woah woah woah woah woah...woah... This isn't my batman glass. Less woahs and I would've liked it

-Stewie going to hit Will Ferrel for that Clipper's fan joke in Bewitched. First off Will Ferrel had nothing to do with the writing of that and he's completely hilarious otherwise...second of all...just a good waste of airtime.

-Creepy old guy song and bit in one episode. I was just annoyed the whole way through and thought it was just stupid.

I could think of more but I have to do some accounting homework before my 11am class.

The Will Ferrel thing was awesome. Stewie's rant about Brian's book was awesome. The Creepy old guy song was awesome.

But that other scene definitely had too many Whoa's. The new season of FG isn't as good as the first new season in 2005 when FG came back, but I still find it funny.

I watched a family guy episode Tuesday or something, and it's been a while, but all i kept seeing, was flashbacks.

*something happens*
"wow this is more embarrassing than that time peter...."

*something happens*
"wow this is almost more painful to watch than...."

*something happens*
"Holy Crap this food is worse than that food at...."

I don't know...I’m indifferent.

Yeah, Family Guy has gone downhill

In reverse, I watched one of the new Simpsons today, and it cracked me up :p

Bah American Dad trumps all of those!

American dad is the most minimally funny one out of all of them. Its far too biased politically. To be political and funny, you need to do it like Family guy in its first few seasons. Sparing nobody, making fun of everything equally and unabashedly.

I really feel sad that the simpson sukcs so much now, even some old famous characters had been not apearing again,I think they should cancelate it whit a very good end,or make it funny again

Some of my favorite lines from American Dad have nothing to do with the political humor.

"Ohhh vadge...our italian tour guide" (or something)

2 girls were knocked out when trying to escape after finding out Roger was an alien
Roger: "Did you see where they went?"
"Who?"
"The black guys that did this"

Stan yawns
"Sandman's startin' to goose me"

Those are just a few of them but I find most episodes of American Dad funnier than the new Family Guys.

I still think there's a lot of comedy to be had with American Dad, some good lines.

"FBI! To the Dynasty Exhibit!...Oh wait...this is my car! EVEN BETTER!"

"I'll take my victory muffin now, make it.........bran"

Stan - "Now guess who got you these tickets"

Fat kid with nerdy whiny voice - "Was it you Mr. Smith?"

Stan - "SHUT UP PORKCHOP!!!...I mean er, yes I did"

Yeah, come to think about it, American Dad is getting better n better :)

I always loved American Dad more than Family Guy. Pretty much everything Stan and Roger says is gold.

Two of the best characters - Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz stopped appearing because Phil Hartman, their voice actor, died. A big shame, because Hutz especially was bloody hilarious.
