Well... will you? I think I will, just cause the graphics and gameplay look awesome.

Yes, I'm a sucker for the Sims, and pretty much any other "sandbox" games.

How do you know its boreing? Its not even out yet...

The entire genre is boring as hell to me. When I play games I want great stories, adventures, and things you wouldn't see in normal life. To me having a game that simulates everyday things is pointless.

If I want to have a house, go to work, meet friends, and use the bathroom I can already do all that right now and with better graphics.

Its not supposed to be any of those things though. :D
Don't tell me you never had fun with Simcity.

me too :)

well, i play them non stop for about a week / month, then i cant stand the sight of them anymore. The only exception was simcity 4, as it was incredibly hard... and you never got anyhting for it. whats the point of being able to buy a skyscraper, or a monument, if youll only be able to afford it by cheating?

Simcity isn't the same thing at all really. But even so, no never really got into it.

Then you can say "I dont like any sim games."

You're not into the sim gnere apparently. If you're not into the gnere then thats cool. I'd stick to the good FPS like HL2 :D.

imo, Both sim games and FPS can have great stories. Though in the sim games, you have to create them ;)

For me, I loved the original Simcity (bought it for my Amiga 500 actually) and generally like most sim games.

I bought the first Sims game when it came out and enjoyed it for quite a while. But it did get boring.

I will buy Sims2, especially since it's coming in about 3 weeks and we probably won't have HL2 by then. I just hope they make it a bit more open ended.

I'll only pay for the Sim City line :P

no but my sister probably will...
yeah, this is me as well. I just dont think it looks that great, it will be like the sims to me, play it for a day, have a bunch of fun and then never play it again, so I have no reason to buy it.

Will I buy it? Hell nope.
This is just not my type of game.

Well this is certainly a weird gaming community... more people not going to buy it than are... yet it will probably outsell all other games this year. :P

I'm not going to buy it... but I'll definately acquire it. I love sandbox games as well, but I found the Sims to be boring. I have my reservations.

I think the reason The Sims sold so well is due to its appeal to a non-gamer audience. The casual person who might happen to pick up a video game probably wont get a first person shooter, but a game like Sims 2 will appeal to them, as well as gamers.

You know your pathetic when.....you play a videogame that is ripped off of real life.

You guys must have no sense of humor at all... whenever I end up playing The Sims with some people, it's ****ing hillarious...

never managed to get into the sims, kinda glad I didn't either. so nope not biting.

After getting my results from the fay test, I'm going to say it'l be super and of couse I'm going to buy it.

Actually, yeah I think I'l buy it, because it has a lot which the first game lacked and I wanted....Without the trouble of getting millions of addons which were quite graphically dated after looking at screenshots of The Sims 2.
