exactly.... i don't even know why we're worrying about steam servers.... i mean with every other game just before its release the servers will be restarted.... :cheers:

Err, linux doesn't necessarily mean 1337 speed compared with MS platforms...

I'm guessing MS, since steam is windows based, I'd guess the server software is too

there has been an update we havn't received though - the squiggles starting at 1 ish on sat have resulted in no update yet, so you can bet we'll be getting that just b4 (or with) HL2

Gabe knows Microsoft OS's in and out, I think that's what he would use. It's a common misconception that Linux is more stable than a well maintained Windows server.
