I've been hearing thunder all day, but meh, nothing weird about that I suppose. However, I just saw a flash (quite close as well) and when I looked out the window, I noticed that I couldn't see most of the town apart from around my house, due to the fact that it is not covered in mist...Its raining though, but because my house is quite tall, and also part way up the hill (the town is sort of a valley) I can see rain falling, but its...difficult to explain. Its like its just falling from nowhere, and appearing between my bedroom and the ground.

I'd take a picture but I dont have any batteries for my camera, and the longer it goes on the more it seems to be clearing anyway. Its just really weird...

Hu?? where abouts in england are? maybe the rain heading here?!

I'm guessing he's in the North, because we're getting a lot of rain and thunder in Manchester at the moment. Just heard a flipping huge thunder about 5 minutes ago. Spooked my cat loads. :D

Yeah, I'm north. Not sure if you have heard of it, but I live in Stalybridge. Its east, on the edge of the hills.

Few i'm in the west midlands so i shouldn't get any for a while.

I've sorta seen what your discribing. while I was at school we were coming back from somwhere and the area we were going into was further down the large hill, all swallowed up in that mist thing, and it had been raining/stormy around that time too. If its the same thing then yeah it looks weird as hell and very creepy. You can see where a lot of those spooky scary short stories come from when you see something like that :E

I've always wanted to see the mist, but I've always been deathly afraid of The Baskerville curse :)

*Stern cowers in the corner whimpering like a little girl muttering about large dogs with red eyes*

guys you MUST take pictures, we have so little mist here in the flatlands of ontario

It's been realy cold and rainy here latley.
SMHI (weatherstuff) did predict a cold winter, and that isn't good up here. About -40 in extreme days.

hmm I live in the North East as well, it's dark and cloudy, but no rain!! Must be localised.

Why does it seem, to me anyways, weird weather events are becomming more frequent?

I might just be crazy...but....yea..seems like it to me.

Well a lot of it is because of how linked the world is nowadays...everyone has a camera, and everyone can send it around the planet in minutes.
Perhaps weather is becoming more extreme, but not the extent it seems.

Nah, I don't think so.
The weather always go up and down, it's been doing that for billions of years. Sure, the CO2 and so on affects this alot, but I don't care.
Some day the earth will stop, and during my lifetime it will be as it is right now, very good.

It's a part of life.

Well I wouldnt dismiss what I say ifso easily...Of course weather is very changable, but previously a lot of people wouldn't know about it because they might have had a few hots summers, and some cold winters, but they just didn't know about hurricans and tornadoes...Some people still don't even know what snow is.

Edit: I think the clouds just dropped all their rain at once...Litterally, in about 2 minutes it was over but during that two minutes the road was flowing with at least 2 inches of water. Thats really quite a lot when you think about it.

From what I've been reading it seems like you Brits are getting some major flooding over there.

Just make sure not to leave your computer sitting in 5 feet of water a week before HL2's release.

Yep, we have been getting some serious flooding :) The weather this past couple of years has been odd really. Heat waves, rain waves...Not too much snow though :(

But yeah, the flooding does normally get quite bad anyway, what with all the people living on flood planes :x Especially around the south as well, where its flatter land. Its made though...Why do people build houses on land that cleary has a name for a reason. Flood plains...Can you make it any more obvious :)

sounds... dark and stormy :)
wish I was there, truth be told, I'm tired of the blasted sun.

I got drenched at work today, I'd shake my head and spray the customers with water \o/
