The 'Tricked into finding out the twist' Thread

Unfortuneatly I was tricked into reading what could be the ending twist to HL2, the annoying thing is to find out if it's true I have to find out the real twist or it could be real and I accidently ruin it for someone else, I am going to assume it was true and keep it to myself.


I want to hear others peoples story of being tricked, think of this as a group therapy session.

Well, for me, a picture is less a "giving away" then a BINK..

I watched some leak pics & stuff including monster pics, characters, locations and some text... but that was a long time ago and the source is lost now..

So i dont really remember.. well, i simply didn't think about it all the time.. so i forgot.. But i still know of the Characters & creatures..
The text is forgotten tho...

In these forums iv'e been exposed to 2 "spoiler" pics... but it wasn't so much "spoiler" in them..

And if a link would appear right now.. i would click it..
So... i guess i dont care so much..

I've seen posts about the ending in these forums before. I'm not that bothered really, the plot isn't the most important part of the game, and I'm sure there's plenty more to discover along the way.

How has the ending been spoiled unless, of course, the game has been leaked again?

the leaked 'script' was not a script at all and was instead a closed captioning file for Half-Life 2 which had no information on the actual scene itself and what happened except for what the characters are saying so anyone posting the ending because they read the 'script' is just guessing what exactly happened unless they have went to Valve Software and play tested the game from start to finish and then released the information which by doing that they would have violated the Non-disclosure agreement that they signed before they play tested Half-Life 2.

I once almost got 'tricked' by a yellow popup tooltip text hint thing that was of a hijacked forum thread-account spoiler posting something. In other words: I caught a glimpse of the spoiler but I immediately looked away.

So, I don't know the twist or something, I was quick enough to avoid it. I recall it having the words 'Adrian Shepard' in them. After I refreshed the page, the thread was deleted. Thank god for the mods here!

Anyone being able to confirm the Adrian Shepard part - feel free to comment, without going in-depth. My question is: was Adrian mentioned in the spoiler or not, or was his name used to depict something in the spoiler? I am almost 100% sure that Adrian was mentioned in the spoiler thread.

Even if its just the script, and you don't know the context,
reading it is bound to blow some twists (or red hairings leading up to a twist).

like if breen tells you that alyx died, then you find out she didn't. I'm hoping this is the case with whatever was posted. I've seen a post on a spoiler from the script and I've heard both that its false and true. we'll see : O

Exactly, and speculating that a twist does or does not exist is a spoiler in itself.

The point of this thread was meant to be for people like me that was tricked into reading the/a twist, and I wanted to speak with other people that this had happened to.
