The Vega star system is about to watch Night Court and Miami Vice

I just watched Contact last week and its really cool. I hope they like it

I bet those little alien bastards are saying to themselves..."i bet that star system is watching tentacle tuesdays"

Guys I have no star system.

But my chin does.

I was actually looking and the worm creaures on alpha prime has just watched the Jackson/Timberlake tribute :D

I heard that this stuff probably wouldn't make it in the same format, because considering the distance and such the waves would just be received as static.

just imagine how retarded and eerie it'd be if we were the ONLY living things in the entire universe

We better get our act together then. Also thats an awfully large place for just us. the probability of life in our galaxy is like 500,000 to 1 million intelligent life forms that are all unique

sort of sucks that space is so freaking huge that even if we do somehow invent something that travels at the speed of light or close to it it'd still take thousands of years to travel to places even in our own galaxy

Those numbers are worthless.

Punky Brewster and Night Court? It's a good time to be Vega.

What I want to know is - where did all of the material come from? The gasses and everything in space came from where? They were just there and shit?

I can kinda understand that space is there. It's like nothing. But there can't be nothing (mind blown) so there has to be something. Space.

^ question with a gigantic answer...

In the coming years the vegans will receive transmissions of Firefly, then find out fox cancelled it after the first season.

God i hope they invade earth and blow up fox.

I don't think in a billion years humans will be able to figure out enough about space. We can't even figure out what all of our organs do.

Needs more Einstein.

In the past week or two I finally crawled out from the rock I've been living under and started watching this show. I feel bad for Joss Whedon; all his shows gets canned, save for Buffy.

In early 1902, Einstein and Mileva Mari? had a daughter they called Lieserl, born in Novi Sad where the parents of Mileva lived.[21] Her fate is uncertain after 1903.[22] Einstein and Mari? married in 1903, and in 1904 the couple's first son, Hans Albert Einstein, was born in Bern, Switzerland. Their second son, Eduard, was born in Zurich in 1910. In 1914, Einstein moved to Berlin, while his wife remained in Zurich with their sons. They divorced on 14 February 1919, having lived apart for five years. Einstein married Elsa Löwenthal (née Einstein) in 1923. She was his first cousin maternally and his second cousin paternally. In autumn 1935 they moved to a house they purchased in Princeton, New Jersey; shortly afterward, Elsa Einstein was diagnosed with heart and kidney problems and died in December, 1936.[23]
D'oh

I'm afraid that is inevitable.

And Darkside that must be one huge gorram rock...

Well, I saw the movie when it came out. And a friend of mine kept telling me, "You need to see the show; I have it on DVD." But I guess someone else had his DVDs for years and never returned them, so recently when I had nothing to do I looked the show up on Hulu.

Fair enough. Though ideally people should watch the series before the film - certain events are far more impactful that way.

I sometimes feel that we as nations must allocate our resources to the expedition of space and not killing each other for inane reasons.

Then I realize that it is heresy.

Ockham's Razor suggests that as we haven't received any broadcasts of a similar nature, alien lifeforms equal to or more advanced than ourselves do not exist.

Especially considering how much man advances in such short amounts of time. Wouldn't be surprised if the first people to take a long extended voyage to try and reach a distant habitable planet have themselves passed along the way by a more futuristic ship travelling much faster. And not even realizing it. Once they get there there's already a thriving human settlement. Heh.

Maybe just like how we detected a few planets that are in that "goldy lox" zone, maybe an advance civilization detected earth as being in that habitable zone thousands of years ago and already left heading right for this planet. They might be halfway here or something like that. Who's to say they won't show up in a week, month a few years?

Thoughts like this get me excited lol
