Did anyone watch this show called “The War at Home” or summat on like that on E4 last night?? OMG what a shit show!! Why do sitcoms rely on laugh tracks to tell us when we need to laugh?

The show itself was really crap. The acting was shit, the story was terrible and controversial in my opinion. The daughter of the family is 16 or summat and shes goin out with a black kid. The dad of the family makes such a big deal outta this!

“He black!!?? My daughters goin out with a black kid!!??” I mean come on, that’s just crude. He makes it sound like “they” are different species all together and are bad for her daughter!! How fuked up is that

Also the family thinks that their eldest brother might be gay, so what do they do?….they discuss it all together in the kitchen whilst having a family meal with the “big brother”. What a fuked up family, no decency or intellect.

I didn’t laugh once and all the way through was thinking “Why did they commission this show?” Very poor and dire attempt to breath new life into American sitcoms

One of the worst shows I've ever seen. I've watched it two or three times when I was bored and every time it was the same thing; daughter does something, dad goes crazy.

I don't know why so many American sitcoms are brought over here...do they not realise that very few people actually find them funny? There's one on BBC 2 with Alison thingy-majig from Buffy which is complete shite, and it's not true that everybody loves raymond....

Its true, theres sooo much shit on TV its crazy. Only decent American sitcom I think is Cheers, Scrubs and Fresh Prince of Bel Air

the family members are teenagers ..it's not like they were discussing anal sex or heavy petting ffs ..they just asked him if he was gay ...maybe in your personal experience this is a big deal (you're parents do discuss sex right? (other than in terms of "it's a sin" or "it's evil")) but it's really not

Also, when the DAD found out his WIFE had dated black men, he made such an issue of it. He said summat like "How many of THEM.. a couple... a few... HOW MANY!?". He was imposing that they are different to us white men, different in a lowering term. If you watch the scene ull know what I mean
