The conservative meat puppets are at it again. They're criticizing Obama for having appointed "czars" in the government. You know, the word sounds so commie/Russian, so it fits with all the other absurd accusations thrown at the man. Thankfully, someone from the DNC has put together one of Glenn Becks rants about Obamas czars with pictures of czars from the Bush administration.

Hey Glenn, why weren't you running your fat racist mouth years ago to protest all the czar appointments made by Bushy? ****ing hypocrite

ugh i can't stand Glenn. his mouth does the talking but theres really nothing upstairs

Too bad the Czars aren't actually Czars, and that's not even their title. It's what the media calls them because they're stupid ****s.

so its like

"now if you think public health isnt comie enough now he appoints people which are called, wait for it,czars, yes czars and I wonder when we will be mandatory to wear those fur hats and drink vodka, wake up america!"

Surely some of them are Czarinas.

Czars sound cool, what planet do they come from?

It's translated the cyrillic alphabet, there are a couple of accepted spellings.

Krynn the Tsar/Tzar/Czar was the monarch of pre-revolution Russia. Apparently Americans now associate the title mainly with communism

To be fair, 'Czar' is a pretty ordinary euphemism for people placed in high bureaucratic positions by a government to handle particular areas. It's common to talk of a "drugs czar" or whatever. But the autocratic connotations were surely what's made the term so suddenly attractive to the conservative media. The Russian flavour can't have hurt either. And in any case none of this changes how silly the tactic is from the beginning - selecting things that many presidents do and that Bush did extensively and then criticising Obama for it is the very definition of hypocrisy.

The more I learn that the people of this planet do not share in my views, the more pissed off I am.

That's my favourite part about this entire thing. They have no idea that the Bolshevik's actually overthrew the Tsar's autocracy, and now people like Glenn Beck are actually calling Obama a Tsarist, Fascist, Socialist, Communist who is also a secret Kenyan Muslim Atheist.

The fact that people actually believe this just proves how ill informed they really are.

Czar as a word was derived from Caesar, as in Julius all conquering Roman Hero. Same also goes for Kaiser.

Yeah true but it's of slavic origination and everyone knows "Slavia" is off in them there Russian parts and Obama appointing those russian slavic commie czar's means he'll eat all our forced-abortions while we're marching to the Kremlin to be executed by fascist bureaucrats!

HOPE AND CHANGE! NOT IN MY COUNTRY!

RON PAUL/SARAH PALIN 2012!

Oh I totally doubt it too, but it pretty much sums up the people of the teabag rallies though don't it.

That was quite funny, esp the fact that apparently Fox lifted the shot from CNNs crane.

Also worth checking out the Outfoxed film that is linked there, to get an idea as to just how unhinged Rupert Murdoch is. Its a few years old (2004 ish), but we are definitely seeing Fox & Murdochs other assets in full on attack mode at the moment. What is the most troubling thing, is just how out of wack the average Fox news watcher becomes from reality based on well known and established facts. That 9/10 of them believe Saddam was linked to 911 is frankly disturbing...

Some people say... that Fox is a great news agency!

I thought it was spelled "tsar" in English... Anyway, are these people just tossing around words they relate to Russia thinking they're all communist?

A surprising number of them are, yes.

Confirmed all the more in their minds because of people like Van Jones, having the media appointed "Czar" for green jobs... and his past communist comments.
