I was browsing some of my favourite online comics when I thought "man, I need more." I then realized that others might want to know some of my favorites. Soooo, I had the idea of a thread devoted to them. Here's how it goes: everyone posts a webcomic, and a short description of said webcomic. One comic per post- let's keep it orderly.

I'll start us off.

OverCompensating: An absolutely hilarious comic about the "real-life" exploits of comic Jeffrey Rowland and friends. The art style is catchy, hand-drawn-looking, and quite fitting. The humor is completely unique, very wacky/offbeat, and always laugh-out-loud funny. It updates a few times a week. As always, start from the beginning and read up.

My Favorites, in some kind of order

The Parking Lot is Full
Probably the best comic of all time.

The Perry Bible Fellowship
Coming in at second, this comic usually has me laughing my ass off.

Penny Arcade
A classic for ya gamers. And people with a good sense of humor.

A Lesson is Learned, but the Damage is Irreversible
Definately the most unique comic ever, and very well-drawn. What the fook style comedy.

Joe Loves Crappy Movies
Best movies-related comic by far. Just hilarious.

Boasas
One of the best comics ever. Just read it.

Overcompensating
Used to be one of the best, recently its getting a bit stupid.

WiguJust plain awesome. Getting a little old, though)

Toothpaste for Dinner
Hilarious quotable weirdness. Must-read.

Matriculated
OK comic that's getting more and more serious, which is dumb. Some funny ones, though, and I love the artist, which is the same as Joe Loves Crappy Movies.

White Ninja
Weird, and getting old, but if you read them from the beginning at 4 in the morning, its sure to make you laugh.

VG Cats
Not so funny any more, although the Christmas one is hilarious.

Butternutsquash
Hardly ever updated, but very well drawn. Kinda "heh" funny.

Niego
Bottom cuz its dead now, mildly entertaining.

Comics that used to be good but suck now

Questionable Content
Used to be entertaining, but now its a soap opera in comic form. And a bad one, too.

Theater Hopper
Just not funny like it used to be. Old ones are class, though.

A Modest Destiny
It is dead now, but while it was up it started off hilarious and ended up boring and serious.

Comics that were never good but people like

Ctrl Alt Delete
Blatent, terrible, unfunny rip-off of Penny Arcade.

Edit: Sorry that I broke the rules and didn't follow directions. :E But I don't want to throw that post all away now... here, pretend that all doesn't exist and this is my post:

Concerned: The Half-Life and Death of Gordon Frohman
Hilarious gmod-constructed comic following the exploits of a clueless dweeb named Gordon Frohman, walking the route through Eastern Europe that a bespectacled former collegue of his will later take. (disclaimer: the groan-worthy and frankly unfunny first two panels of #094 - currently on the frontpage - are poorly representative of the quality of the humour. Try to read it from the beginning, though the first comic is hardly the hilarious opening that the comic deserves either). A must look for every Half-Life fan. I'm only surprised that i'm the first to post a link!

Statement of the day: "Comics that were never good but people like".

Alpha Shade, stared fast then really droped off, but still a good steam punk.

Daedalus Blue - A dark horror themed Sci-Fi awesome characters and a fast pace. {once they get inside the ship}

That seems to be both wierd and funny at the same time. Is Transmetropolitan set in the future or past, like Sin City?

perry bible fellowship is by far my favorite.

sluggy freelance. quite simply the best webcomic evar. It's about a couple of freelance bums adn their friends, and the adventures they go on. Go back and read the archives, all the way from august '98, and you will not be dissappointed.

OK, another one:
Fallen: Dark, cool story about a girl, her angelic friend, and... stuff. Kinda seems to be dead (veeeeery rarely updates now) but the art alone is worth checking out.

Perry Bible Fellowship! wow! need more!

There we go.

lawl

Oh and why do my quotes never come out properly?

Insert Title Here

A comic about a lonely, homely, nerdy college student struggling with a savage break-up, gaming addiction, and terrible friends.

Yeah, it's about me.

Sheese, it's like seeing how far you can go away from a compliment and still have it be a compliment.

The lighting is terrible, the plot is non-existent, and heavens, the smell. Must-see! Five stars!

I was merely pointing out to people that their first encounter with it may not grab them. There's no point in only singing something's praises and not adknowledging its faults. The thread asks you to recommend a comic, not review it. I just want people to read it, and feel its necessary that they know its weeknesses beforehand.

And i'm honoured that you registered solely to comment upon my post.

It was me.

No, it wasn't.

The Parking Lot is Full is the best ****ing comic ever, so everyone go **** yourselves you ****ers.

Yeah, but...the Frohman joke in #94 is specifically meant (I assume) to be non-funny, in that it's something stupid Frohman would say. And a prologue is...well, a prologue, and not where something really starts anyway.

Not necessarily that I'm saying you're wrong. If it didn't amuse you in those parts, fine, but it's not to say that they will therefore be unfunny to all people. And besides, if you're only going to find little faults with Concerned here and there, that still puts it whole galaxies ahead of the collection of total crap that is the vast majority of HL2 posed comics currently available. I can't understand how you take the time to write, load, pose, cap, format, text, and upload something like this without any of the steps along the way hitting you with the realization that "oh hell, I've just shat away 8 hours of my life when even masturbating would've been more productive and entertaining."

Well, 1 and a half pages of the comic not being funny is hardly the most negative thing I could have said. I mean, I didn't say I disliked them, just that they weren't funny. I probably realised that If I embarked on actually praising the comic, I would find myself about 2 hours later wondering where the time had disappeared to. So I just left it up to people to find it out for themselves whilst apolgising for the 1 and a half pages that wouldn't immediatly strike people like the extremely witty writing that you get in the other 92 1/2. I did after all recommend the comic in the first place, over all the other webcomics I could have recommended.

To redress the balance a little, I have to say that I think it's a credit Chris that even his comments and extras/news are well worth reading. His "To the Death" commentaries in particular could easily be a waste of time, but they're somehow extremely funny. Even his deleted comics are above the standard of most stuff, GModed or otherwise.

Megatokyo is an absolutely brilliant online something, although i have doubts towards as to whether it is a webcomic or not. It's more of an online manga, updated semi-frequently that is more serious than funny. The latest bits are best but don't really make sense unless you read the earlier bits.

Also, CHUGWORTH'S ACADEMY! I love the art style AND the humour, and remember:

PS: I'm refering to the Asia is superior line, but I'm too lazy to load up paint on this machine... because it will take literal hours. HOURS DAMMIT.

A Modest Destiny was my favorite comic up until the 'third season'. Then it got serious, sick, and stupid like said before.
I did save all of the comics before the site went down though. I need to go through them again.
