Christianity has had and is having its period, while Islam had its own a long, long time ago. You're right, the Middle Ages were terrible, but the burden of proof is still on you as Islam is exactly the same as it was when it was formed by Muhammad. Besides, I don't think much in the Middle Ages could be attributed to Christianity, except of course for the obvious stuff like witch-burning.

The word of God is infallible and eternal, never to change. Therefore Christianity cannot evolve or adapt with modernity.

Any change in the Christian religion is just a perversion of the faith. What people practice today is not Christianity as God intended.

No, secular worldviews have changed for the better, and Christians have abandoned old tenets of christianity because many of them are downright immoral in modern ethics. Christianity, the real, true doctrine of Christianity is exactley the same as it was 1,800 years ago (when most of the NT was finished), the books haven't changed, only peoples interpretations have changed.

Christians are only seemingly less violent because they live in a rich, secularized part of the world, and are less faithful. Therefore it is not the wests embracing of religion, but relative abandonment of religion, that has made us seem nicer and more rational than our extremist muslim counterparts.

On the other hand, many muslim extremists follow their holy book with extreme detail. It is not the book that is inferior, but they fact that they follow it at all. If christians followed the bible exactley, we would have far more people blowing themselves up in the name of Christianity.
