It's not that hard to make... and they've been working on the game for 7 years. I tihnk they have at least 1 lil suprise for us :smoking:
 
doubt it. everyone forgets they had to make the source engine aswell in that time.

That's too big of a selling point to be kept secret. As crazy as it sounds I'm sure they would lose out on quite a few sales of HL2 strictly for the fact that it doesn't have HL2DM. If it was in there they would let us know. But who knows? Only time will tell.

I just wanted to share a wondrful experience with others at teh same tine. Like shoot barrel at em and knock off and mountain and watch their brains spllatter. Guess not. Bedtime.
 
Valve have stated there is no HL2DM. There is no reason to believe otherwise.

There will be plenty of amazing surprises in the game itself (reviews were generally careful not to give much away), but not secret multiplayer modes or anything like that. The game the reviewers played is the game we will be playing.

Use your logic, before trying to cheer other idiots up.
 
OMFG, GIVE IT UP ALREADY!

Jeez... just wait for the MP mod. Isn't like it will take long to make.
 
I'm sure the mod will be just as good as what Valve would've made. I'm confident in the modding team.

I'd rather have Valve be working on HL3 anyway (I don't care about DM).
Which according to planethalf-life.com is planned.

Malfunction Studios is behind the project.

Although there will be no major advances in the project until Half-Life 2 is released; there have been some details confirmed by the team.

We the Team will be playing all the old HLDM maps and deciding on their favorite 3. Then everyone will vote and the top 3-5 will be converted and updated for the first release. Along with those maps there will be the team's, and the communities's favorite HL2 areas converted for MP. We'll also try to throw a bunch of 'party' maps in the first realease - IBroadsideI

Therefore, we will be seeing old HLDM maps converted to source in the first release.

I will try my best to keep you all updated as HL2DM is updated.

Exactly! We have nothing to worry about.

By the time you beat SP, the MP mod will almost be done.
 
:naughty: Valve is smart. Half Life 2 is not going to have multiplayer; Half Life 2: Multiplayer is going to be a separate game. In reality though it's basically Half Life 2's multiplayer. So they make you buy and entirely "separate" game by the name of Half Life 2: Multiplayer. Oh, and they know we will buy it.

this is another *dumb* thread.... (but i'll post anyway ;))

there is no HL2DM - (otherwise reviewrs would've played that...)

there are about 4 or 5 major HL2DM mod's in design......AG2...some other thing blah nblah...... << i bet this could be annoying because it would split the community.... oh well hoepfully it will be fun...!!!

I think Valve's Surprise = No Game in Retail Box... except a little slip saying, "please download HL2 off steam from www.steam-powered.com we hope you enjoy the *cough* game i mean lack of cd's *cough*...."

More than likely, there's a DM sitting there, waiting to be released that wasn't in the review copies. Perhaps VALVe want people to focus on the single player aspect first...
 
...or maybe HL2DM is not going to happen or if it is, it isn't ready yet. Don't expect a surprise; just be happy that HALF LIFE 2 is coming out.
 
A DM mod shouldn't be difficult at all to make... which makes me curious as to why Valve didn't even make an effort to make a DL mode. Oh well. :|
 
There isnt, and Its not EASY TO MAKE MULTIPLAYER, its the hardest part of a game to make

i doubt that. i'm betting almost everyone will have beaten hl2 in less than a week of playing

When I heard there was going to be no official hl2dm.. I was so disappointed ;( I still am. HLDM is the only game I've played online for more than 2 weeks (been playing 2 years.. i'm still crap :p ). I honestly hate CS. I've played CS: S about 3 times, and it bored me. It was cool at first, cause hey, it's Source! But meh.

Roll on the unofficial mods :thumbs:
