Things are going fishy again

Dang.

I know a fair few people doing the absentee vote in Florida, too.

GG, election fixers.

You can't really say you're suprised that Florida ****ed up yet again...

Can you Americans do anything right????? This is ridiculous...

Yes, it's certainly bad and it's probably a good indication that the days after the election are going to be a nightmare.

But they are currently only missing, not stolen. About Americans not doing anything right, just what do you expect me to do about it? I happen to live on the other side of the country so it would be slightly difficult for me to accomplish anything. Sorry, but I'm just getting tired of people lumping all Americans together.

hey.. dont just complain.. after all, isn't it the duty of every american citizen to rise against stuff like that?

have you read 1984? lol you know what happens with that attitude lol

How much do you want to bet that the missing ballots are primarily from Liberal/Democrat demographics? (thats a no-brainer) Oh, just checked. It just happens to be in one of the most liberal parts of Florida.

I swear to god, the GOP is as crooked as a $3 bill. From what I understand, though, the Democrats are not going down without a fight this time. Legal battles have been prepared. Unless Kerry wins, the election will not be determined on November 2nd. Thanks to GOP tampering, we'll be fighting this one out for months.

America has such a retarded voting system.

It won't go through the courts if there is a massive dispute. If a tie is determined, the decision to elect the president goes to the house. Their in the house, each state has one vote for president. The president is then chosen with 50% of the vote plus one. That would get terribly messy.

Democrats and republicans both don't want a messy situation to errupt. That is why the 2000 elections were relatively unchalleneged. If in 2004, the same thing happens, don't expect much resistance from the party that got the raw end of the deal.

It was almost certainly a Kerry supporter that stole the ballots, they do lots of stuff like that. In my neighborhood Bush signs get stolen all the time(one hasn't stayed up for longer than a couple weeks) and cars get keyed just for having a Bush bumper sticker, I have never seen anything like this go the other way though.

:dozey: Yes, because we want our guy to lose.

Christ.

Listen, if somehow Kerry supporters did this to make the GOP look crooked, the would not do it in THE MOST LIBERAL COUNTY IN FLORIDA, sabatoging so many of their own votes. Thats just retarded.

Being smart is not required to support Kerry.

Right now, the fundementals of Democracy are at stake. Action will be taken, you'd better believe it. Little action was taken last time because it took us by surprise. And who would be more likely then the group that got shafted by corruption last time around?

Thats a feeble argument. Whoever staged this clearly thought it through. Your argument basically comes down to Kerry supporters sabotaged themselves out of stupidity, because the GOP woud never do anything like that.

Clearly being smart is not required to support Bush either.

It wasn't because of surprise, it was to keep the current political landscape intact. If a did uprising happened, our current political system would be revised which would most likely cause the two dominant political parties (democrats and republicans) to loose power. Neither side wants to loose power - they are afraid of change.

Gore could have easily kept of appealing and filing lawsuits. He didn't because he didn't want to unintentionally hurt his party by dramatically changing the political landscape. The US only has two dominant political parties because of how current elections are handled. If a massive change were to occur, more political parties would likely come. That scares the living daylights out of both political parties.

Why do you think it would be so hard to steal the ballots? There are so many possible ways they could have been stolen, like the building they were being stored in has a night crew that cleans weekly and they decided it would be funny to steal the ballots.

I would take it a step further; stop micro viewing everything Americans do, sure we make mistakes, but your country does as well. No need to act condescending, we didnt become on of the most powerful nations on earth by mistake.

I think it's about time the UN went into and reviewed each American Presidential election from now on with a fine tooth comb. How do you expect countries like Zimbabwe, Iraq, etc to be a true democratic nation when the biggest "democratic" nation is a corrupt as they come, according to the last and current presidential election.

If you believe the last presidential election was corrupt, just lol. There may have been problems, but that doesn't qualify as corrupt. There may have been minor corruption, but nothing that big.

I am strongly opposed to the UN coming in and reviewing voting. I am for auditing the presidential election however. It should be done by the US, not the UN. You can even higher a bunch of the auditing firms to perform the audit. However, there is no way I will support the UN. Any candidates who support the UN automatically will not get my vote.

there were a number of americans (congressmen, democratic watchdogs etc) asking for the UN to step in. BTW why do you hate the UN?

And why should the American people trust an auditing firm when they can't even trust the presidential candidates?

We aren't the biggest *Democratic* nation. You should read up on USA. :) We're infact a Democratic-Republic. Yes, there is a differance. Secondly: I would be fecking pissed off if the UN got into our presidential election.

Damn, that was a blatantly obvious bash on America....

the UN now watches most "unsafe" elections around the World. I see no reason but pure arrogant American pride in their awful election system"s" not to allow their election to be watched.

I'm normally a peaceful, content person. Only three things set me off.

1) Being disrepectful to members and family who are in the military
2) Being an extremist
3) Being incompetent

The UN falls under category 3. They are so incompetent it is not even funny.

The American election system isn't "unsafe" or corrupt. It's just retarded. Really, don't even talk about something you don't even understand how it works.

heh. I've been reading blahblahblah, and it's not a pretty mess. You guys should really allow some inspection by an unbiased (therefore foreign) watcher.

The Bush administration obviasly believes they did the right thing by destroying them...

If you believe the last presidential election was corrupt, just lol. There may have been problems, but that doesn't qualify as corrupt

the thing is, we dont know.. which is why its alway's dodgy hearing about this kind of thing, it could be a scam, purposeful manipulation. Or it could be very well that 60'000 ballots just got lost.

so believe whatever we want.. when is someone going to be straight about this., no one has anything purposeful to say to the media, like ' the last people to be seen sorting through those ballot's where...'

or anything like that... out of sight out of mind... after last year's election's, this is starting to become a cliche of weirdness.

and if it is corrupt.. what can we do..? maybe get a third party envolved .. yes.. but I have a feeling that if it was corruption driving this, you really wouldnt know how deep the rabbit hole goes.. and weither its worth digging :x .

Seems daft really... but I still think its pheasable that the Illuminati are the driving force behind most major world decisions weither it be for the good of all of us,, or just doing what they need to keep the world the way they want it.

Don't worry. The US handles this type of stuff all the time. They have their ways of doing stuff. It just takes time. I highly doubt either party will intentionally do anything stupid. They don't want change.

Like I said, our election system is retarded. Not corrupt.

your probably right,, but hey, prove it, until then its just a belief

same with my point of view, except I figure that this world is corrupt through and through, for elitest control purposes, so the possiblity is not that unrealistic, being as we dont get to see what goes on behind the scenes.

I'm reading four books and taking an electoral behavior class. I don't think I can shove all that over my intarweb connection. :P
