Well I'm off to Texas for 2 weeks on Sunday...Going to be in Houston, Austin, San Antonio. Just wondering what things I should check out?

Also, are there any sports matches on? Is it easy to get tickets (assuming these are pre-season matches)

Go to Austin Texas - now that is real red neck hillbilly territory.
Try the laff stop - that is where lots of stand up comics start out.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Houston. Except maybe drive out to NASA if you're into that kind of stuff. The tour there is ok.

Austin... I dunno, stop by UT campus and pretend you're a student? Walk along certain streets and you'll see a lot of weird people. There's probably live music going on somewhere around Austin if you like that stuff. I guess there's the LBJ museum and the Lady Bird Johnson wildflower center too.

San Antonio... riverwalk, which I actually find kind of boring. It's just a bunch of little shops along this canal thing. I forget what else is around there... Natural Bridge Caverns if you like limestone caves. Or the wildlife ranch.

Come visit me. I'm in North Texas though. The "new york" of texas, so the 'real' texans say. lol

I live in South-West Missouri, you can visit me while you're on the way there/back.

I live outside of London. Come visit me while you're there.

in Austin check out 6th street. its a great bar/club street. search it up on the web and youll find info about it.

austin: just walk around downtown. a really awesome city. great live music pretty much anywhere

houston: nasa

san antonio - also walk around. definitely hit the river walk.

i'll try and think of some specifics.

Piss of Texans of course! Tell them George Bush is an asshole. Theyll probably shoot you though, if you're lucky they'll shoot you in the legs.

Austin is very fun.

Check out "ester's folly", which is sort of like a stage version of Saturday Night Live. Also look for standup comedy. There are also alot of cool resturaunts in Austin, and it has a cool play and art scene. Austin is by far the most liberal city in texas (it was one of the only major cities to vote majority democrat in texas in 2004)

Houston...not so fun. It's very crowded, polluted and filled with endless terrible highways and tons of homeless people. You might like to take a tour of Rice University there though (but that's not really that fun)

You should have gone to Corpus Christi and the DFW area....but Austin should be quite cool. (its definatley one of the coolest cities I've been to, but its probably because I was with a crazy uncle at the time)

rape your mother? i hear that's all the rage in texas.

btw, to all the people who live there: it explains alot.

Cherry, will you post something constructive?

Ahhh yes, definately a great place to go. Bill Hicks himself started off round there!

Glenn you like Bill Hicks?
I love his stuff - i have the dvd of his laff stop performance (Sane Man) as well as Relentless and Dangerous. Best stand up ever.

go mudding!! apparantly that's something people do in america.
