thinking about upgrading my gfx card...

hey, right now i have a radeon 9700 which works ok... but i think hl2 is the last game it will run good, i tryed doom 3 and it freezes when i open up any door, lol. so my question what gfx card would give me a noticable increase in my fps around the board... my mobo is agp and i don't really want to spend over $350 to $400?

is there much of a difference between that and the x850xt or is it just a waste of money, because from the specs i looked at the x850xt seemed like a bad deal compared to the x800xt?

6800gt is best bang for buck if you wanna stick with agp

theres not a really big use for pci-e right now so it should still be alive for 2-3 mabye

Well Foxhound, you probably arn't buying a new motherboard so...
Since you had a 9700 I would also anticipate that you have an Agp 4 or 8x motherboard thus you can't even use a Pci-Express gfx card so therefor you would want a 6800gt.

the x800xl is a great card imo, its good value and performs pretty good.
