Claims that they're making a new Trilogy.
Somewhere in that long read...
Just find it.
What do you think?

I don't know about this. But, I do know that George Lucas said that around 2017 they plan to remake the original trilogy, using total animation. George feels that the graphics will be great enough to look absolute, and that it will be the only way to accomplish his original vision. Too bad the original trilogy was great, and far better than the one we're enduring now. I think George should do something Liberals and Conservativs can agree on; Make a law banning George Lucas from directing movies. :)

He said that?
Where? I must read?
Can you give me the link as to where he said that?
2017-I'd be aroud 27.
I wonder who'd play old Obi-Wan-Sir Alec Guiness died unfortunetly:(

Well,m I personally love the Extended Stories of the books.... a movie based strictly on those would be cool, as long as there is no love story, other thna what is in thre books....

Nah, they should stop right here and quit making stories about the Skywalkers.
One the other hand I came up with an idea last night. I was playin Knights of the old Republic at one of my friend's house and thought: "Man! They should make just one story about the early republic, about 4000 years ago from the stories we know today".
That would be really nice!

Or do the opposite:
Make something about 4000 years AFTER:cheese:

Nah, that would be gay! Then it would be about Han Solo's Grand Children, children children children children children children children etc.

Theres a ton of stuff out there for them to tap into should they ever want to do it....but I'd have misgivings until they proved they could do something on par with the original trilogy.

I'd like to see movies on Boba Fett, or Jango Fett.
At least The Mandalorien Armor.
C'mon, it's the least you could do 20th Century Fox!

Huh, it appears the extra episodes thing is correct.
The site I was talking about having the info, Super Shadow, has the plot scripts for Episode 7 and 8. Normally I would be skeptical, but this guy works with Lucas.

The author has a one-liner about the thrid trilogy being planned. This would be news to the whole world, probably including George Lucas. Obviously the author didn't hear when Lucas said the third trilogy (post Return of the Jedi) would not be made.

I found it very interesting when he decided to axed the 3rd trilogy. Back in the late 1970's he claimed to have 9 episodes planned out and Star Wars was just the fourth of nine. The original 1977 release did not have Episode IV-A New Hope on the sliding intro. However a new edit of the film was re-released a few years later just before or after Empire. I seem to recall "Episode IV" was added by then.

Now it seems more like he had very little planned--that was worthwhile. The fact that all six films revolve around Anakin Skywalker makes a third trilogy inconsistent. I can only imagine how he originally structured the nine. Clearly the first three wouldn't have been what we were seeing--the descent, and the second the redemption. WHat would the third have been? Afterlife? Obviously he didn't have much planned or it was bad. I find it sad that the current trilogy is the best he could do after 20+ years. Others have taken the Star Wars universe in far more interesting directions.

I am not a fan of the new trilogy. I think Lucas should have retired as a director and a screenwriter. Using real directors on Empire & Return are what saved the original series. Now Lucas insists on actors pretending to be wooden puppets reciting bad dialogue so his CGI creatures will seem more life-like.

Mr. Lucas,
Let Peter Jackson do Star Wars...PLEASE!!!

he means

Episode I
Episode II
Episode III <--in the making

-Original Trilogy-
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode VI

-Third Trilogy-
Episode VII
Episode VIII
Episode IX

to be honest i don't see how he can make the next three feel more like star wars. of course there's the vast extended books like chris said, but really that era isn't up to a trilogy to rival the other two.

i think lucas axed most of his ideas because American Zoetrope wasn't that big of a film company at the time, so he thought he'd stick with episode IV and not get his hopes up for anything too big like doing the whole 9 episodes. but then of course capolla moved onto the godfather and the like and star wars was a hit so then i guess he kind of regretted not starting at episode I.

lucas is a lazy funk

but he makes good movies

If Peter Jackson were to do Star Wars, he'd have a hard time making the new Trilogy than the LOTR series because the LOTR movies were based on books, the new Trilogy would have to be something entirely new.
